‘Vocation’, or ‘call’, starts with the eternal invitation between Father, Son and Spirit. And that invitation is creative; when God calls beyond Godself, into the void, that call invites into being a world of life, love and possibility.
I'm in the process of migrating across to Blue sky, which so far I'm finding a far better experience, in so many ways. If you're there, and want to follow, it's CatrinH-D

Word of the day is ‘bang-a-bonk’ (19th century): to sit lazily on a river bank and forget the world for a while.

Great to hear the truly peerless Jen Smith (@WesleysChapel) reflecting on someone called Taylor Swift on @BBCr4today's Pause for Thought this morning. I'm now adding 'down with the kids' to my list of her amazing qualities (Jen's, not Taylor's).

We are in the Houses of Parliament today, with church leaders and MPs, listening and sharing about how faith groups can develop strong relationships with their local MP.

Jennie Hurd explores some of the richness of the Lord's Prayer, including what she's learned from praying it in Welsh.

@CatrinH_D decides - just sometimes - to be less intentional in her discipleship and witness, wondering whether we can sometimes be too focused on our intentions to notice that God intends something else...?

Some of our staff and students are telling stories in the Hope & Anchor’s at 3pm today. They’ll be thinking about money, and wealth disparity within and between generations. Come along and join in! Also come and chat to us at our stall in the Greenbelt Takeaway, until 8pm.

Today on our Greenbelt stand, it was lovely to see former student Debs and her husband on their wedding anniversary. This day, 22 years ago, they celebrated their wedding, on the main stage here at @greenbelt with friends and greenbelters. #queenscommunity #GB50 #GreenbeltTakeway

We are so excited to be at #GB50
Over the years, Queen’s folks regularly engaged with the fabulous @greenbelt . This year, you will find a dedicated team staffing our stand in the exhibitors area and you can join us for other bits of exciting things.
Details in comments :)

I'm normally profoundly underwhelmed by cathedrals. They hold very little resonance for me, spiritually or civically, and generally leave me cold. This one, however, never fails to move me.
Current status...
Give blood, people!
(Sorry to anyone who now feels queasy. The good news is that you don't have to look while you're donating.)
25 years ago, two young students stayed up until the early hours, talking, before finally getting coming to the point. This evening, they celebrated such a momentous anniversary by potting on the broccoli plants then staying up until after 10 o'clock...

Great to meet Andre Burke today. Andre was a pupil at Woodview; he left in 1992. Andre gave use a copy of his book (Economics simplified) which helps young people understand economics and finances.
B: in hand. N: on desk back home.
Me: generally not in pulpit or behind lectern, as they're usually designed with the average height gentleman in mind, which I am not.
Somewhat disappointed by Radcliffe & Maconie's spelling on @BBC6Music this morning.
Complimentary - either nice comment or free gift.
ComplEmentary - balance & enhance something (Radcliffe and Maconie complement one another well, but never compliment one another).
You're welcome.
