Albertans are the best neighbours anyone could hope for. So I struggle to understand why anyone would do this.
If our legislation passes this fall, police and the courts will have the tools to go after the people who decide to do this.

Over 1.45 million Albertans have already applied for the Alberta Energy Rebate. Make sure you are one of them.
It is $100 for every eligible adult, which means $200 for the average family. There is now an extra month to get it done, with the deadline moved to October 31.
This rebate is separate from the fuel tax relief coming tomorrow —so wait to fill up— which will save you 13 cents per litre at the pump. Make sure you apply to get the money put directly in your bank account.

🚨BREAKING
The federal NDP and Avi Lewis @avilewis just released a statement opposing the new pacific link pipeline and demanding it be halted. They oppose Alberta's Pacific Link pipeline and they will do everything in their power to kill it.
Understand what this means... This would kill 140,000 jobs. Stop tens of billions in new wealth for Albertans to build things like hospitals and schools. Lost jobs and lower paycheques for Alberta families.
Today I am calling on Naheed Nenshi @nenshi to do what he should have done a long time ago. Cut ties with his boss, Avi Lewis and the federal NDP. Officially, formally, in writing today. A clean break, right down to the name of their party.
Not doing so tells Albertans all they need to know about where the NDP stands on Alberta energy… which is “leave it in the ground”.

Piles of garbage dumped on your street, on farmland, in ditches. Your community and our environment deserve better than this.
We are cracking down on illegal dumping and raising standards for higher-risk waste facilities. Break the law in Alberta and there will be serious consequences.

Had a really cool experience today touring the @McMasterU nuclear reactor. This reactor was built between 1957 and 1958 and is the country’s most powerful research reactor.
As Alberta explores nuclear energy's potential and works on developing a nuclear energy roadmap it was great to see nuclear energy in action and learn a bit more about what it could do for our province.

Global uncertainty continues to push energy prices higher, and that’s putting more pressure on Albertans’ wallets.
Today I announced that relief is on the way. Starting Oct. 1, Alberta will suspend the full provincial fuel tax, saving Albertans 13 cents per litre on gasoline and diesel every time they fill up until the end of the year. This is practical relief that helps families, workers and businesses keep more money in their pockets.
Albertans already pay the lowest overall taxes in Canada, and this cut adds to our unmatched tax advantage.
At 6:05 p.m., autumn officially begins in Alberta!
As the days grow shorter, the air turns crisp, and harvest season continues across the province, I wish everyone a happy and beautiful fall season.
Today is Agricultural Societies Day in Alberta and we are celebrating the dedicated volunteers and organizations that help communities through events, educational programs, facilities, and local traditions.
Thank you to the agricultural societies that keep rural Alberta strong!
Terry Fox was a Canadian hero.
After losing his right leg to cancer, he began his cross-Canada Marathon of Hope to raise money and awareness for cancer research.
Though he was forced to end his run when his cancer returned, his legacy lives on through the Terry Fox Run.

Our United Conservative Caucus @UCPCaucus wrapped up our fall retreat in Fort McMurray.
Good to have the whole team in the same room, in the community that powers so much of this province.
Thank you to every member of our caucus for the work you put in, and to Suncor @suncor for having us out to see their Fort McMurray operations up close. The scale of what happens up there is something every Albertan should see.
It was a valuable opportunity to connect and stay focused on the same things Albertans talk about at their own kitchen tables. Keeping life affordable. Shorter wait times. Strong schools. Safe streets. Good jobs.

Partnering with Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories to advance nuclear energy helps us build a stronger, more reliable power grid. Together, we’re securing our energy future and ensuring our communities have power they can depend on. #abpoli #cdnpoli
Saskatchewan is partnering with Alberta and the Northwest Territories to create new opportunities to strengthen our power grid, advance nuclear energy and support economic growth.
As demand for electricity continues to grow, Saskatchewan is taking a leadership role in building the next generation of energy infrastructure.
This is a significant milestone that will help power our communities, our industries and our strong, steady economy well into the future.

Through the economic uncertainty created by U.S. tariffs and Canadian counter-tariffs, our focus remains clear: protecting jobs, supporting Alberta businesses and keeping our economy strong.
Our government has launched an online portal where Alberta businesses can share the direct impacts tariffs are having on them.
This helps shape Alberta’s response to real-world tariff impacts across sectors, ensuring decisions reflect the experiences and challenges that Alberta businesses are facing.

Yesterday the Federal Government announced that new oil sands facilities and gas-fired electricity plants will no longer be regulated under C-69. These projects will now be left to the provinces to regulate and approve.
This fulfills a promise made by the Federal Government to Alberta in our MOU implementation agreement signed previously.
This reform will decrease costly duplication and regulatory uncertainty. It will also help our energy and electricity sectors attract investment and grow.
C-69 still needs to be either repealed or amended further to fully respect provincial autonomy and reduce regulatory uncertainty - and we will continue to pursue our case in front of Alberta’s Court of Appeal to help facilitate these needed changes.
However, there is also no doubt that today’s decision by the federal government is yet another needed step in the right direction for Alberta and all of Canada 🍁
Alberta continues to be the best place to do business, attracting major investment and creating more opportunities for Albertans.
Since October 2022, Alberta has continued to record the strongest employment growth in the country, increasing by 12.22%.

I spoke with our American friends through CNBC this morning.
My message: this continent has everything it needs to achieve North American security and independence in energy, critical minerals and the supply chains both our economies run on. Canada has the resources. The United States has the refining and manufacturing capacity to add two or three times their value and export those products around the world. That partnership adds millions of jobs to the U.S. economy and strengthens American trade surpluses with other countries.
Every day we spend arguing about tariffs is a day we hand ground to countries that are not our allies. Neither nation can afford the job losses and increased consumer costs of continuing the fight on trade.
Let’s get back to the negotiating table, get to a deal and move forward.
