Make sure to look where you walk when visiting #Ranomafana NP. You could be wandering straight past one of the smallest #chameleons in the world. Brookesia superciliaris can be found in the rainforests of south-east Madagascar & is easily confused with leaf litter.

Dr Patricia Wright received the distinguished Doshi Family Bridgebuilder Award on September 17th at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles 🎖️
8 students from the #SBU Study Abroad program joined our Environmental Education team to visit a primary school in Ranomafana. This initiative aimed to educate children about the diverse #lemur species of RNP & raise awareness about the importance of protecting #rainforests.
#Congratulations to Dr. Patricia Wright for being honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the African #Primatological Institute on September 11th 2026, in recognition of her 40-year contribution to #lemur research and conservation.

CVB’s #Health Team has been actively collaborating with Rutgers University’s #Bergey Lab team to carry out joint field expeditions in #Ranomafana communities to improve access to primary health care services for local populations & facilitate #research on respiratory #infections.
Catholic Relief Services returned for their biennial visit to CVB.
CRS has been partnering since 2019 with #CVB on the SPICES program. SPICES aims to improve the livelihoods of farmers while restoring degraded landscapes through market-driven, nature-based agroforestry practices.
Our #Restoration Ecology team has been hard at work on the Forest Corridor Project these past months, growing 984 #saplings in our #nurseries and planting them in the village of Kianjanomby with the help of 60 villagers.
Thank you to The Dutch Zoo Association for their support.
Happy International Primate Day 🐒
Did you know #lemurs are the most endangered group of primates in the world? 90% of 112 lemur species are at risk of extinction due to habitat destruction, illegal hunting, illegal trapping, climate change & invasive species.

The Blue #Coua 💙
One of the most striking birds to be found in #Ranomafana National Park, the blue coua is an endemic species to Madagascar & belongs to the cuckoo family.
Unlike other cuckoos, blue couas build their own nests & don't display parasitic behaviour.

World Mosquito Day 🦟
Today we would like to celebrate the efforts of CVB’s doctors and nurses who treat mosquito-borne cases, like malaria, in the field each month in the Ranomafana region.
