I always give patients with normal EF, 1 liter of NS IV prior to IVUS and iliac stenting. Always oversize 2 mm with Walstents. Less with Vici, Abre, Venovo.
Late Embolism of iliac vein stent into heart, uncommon but serious complication! Use 2-3 mm bigger size in WELL hydrated patient. Vein size changes based on filling condition unlike artery. Do you keep patient well hydrated before IVUS iliac veins?
