Yeah? I'd argue it's a combination due to movesets + evolutions but... This is the final battle of the Team Rocket plotline of the game Oh how accomplished I feel repelling this threat; they use such devastating moves as Tackle and Smog!

I hate when people say “Sneasel only spawns in Kanto” as a criticism of GSC/HGSS The games nowhere state that the Gen 2 Pokémon are from Johto, just that they are new! They are new Pokémon that have just appeared, not Pokémon we just haven’t seen yet!

A lot of hate comes from people retroactively applying the subsequent formula to Johto. It doesn’t follow by the same rules as everything else because Game Freak was still figuring everything out

johto's design choices make sense when you remember the slogan was 'gotta catch em all". you are expected to spend weeks completing the pokedex. rare johto pokemon and time based mechanics are part of that challenge. the game is not just a race to beat every trainer.

Its okay for your favorite pokemon gen to have a flaw. They basically all do. Gen 1 - No Post-game Gen 2 - Steep level curve Gen 3 - Gen 4 - Gen 4 Gen 5 - Should have had a third Sawk/Throh Gen 6 - Trevor Gen 7 - Required basic reading Gen 8 - Tree Gen 9- Not enough Briar

I’d go as far to say that the level curve is actually better than the other games in some aspects! I really love how much more time you spent with your starter’s basic and stage 1 forms. Some of the other games really rush how soon they fully evolve in an unfulfilling way

For years I’ve been saying that the Johto level curve is an issue that does not exist Finally a YouTuber that actually plays these games and proves it’s not an issue. An OG Poketuber too Its so refreshing after many modern Poketubers have turned it into a common misconception
