i was gonna make a joke about running out of ideas to actually burn through the resets but actually I don't know
Day 26/ You can now easily switch between multiple accounts on mobile, and coming soon to desktop too. Next two days will be resets… banked… do with this what you may 👀.

a lot of the ai criticism i keep hearing is mostly criticism of systems we've built and just an accelerated optimization of that system
even a few years ago i woulda been like "it's not ai necessarily that's the problem, it's capitalism" but it's not even "capitalism" that's the thing people are complaining about (in my opinion and understanding of what ive seen)
it's kind of specifically american capitalism that's the problem, maybe "western capitalism" ? i don't have the vocab to articulate this yet, i need to read more on this.
like, the problem is not usually X, it's that legally companies were allowed to do X and it's so successful that it's having all these other consequences

black pill: enterprises are putting their AI transformation (and the most existential business risk/opportunity of a lifetime) in the hands of their IT department
a few weeks ago i had a reflection: i can use ai to deepen the skills i already have but what about skills i wish i had? u know? talents i *think* i have but never developed, like playing or writing music.
that'd be a real challenge
and it was.
and it's so fucking fun u guys
The "design engineer" archetype in intelligence era needs be someone much further-reaching on both ends.
Beyond DESIGN,
a keener social intuition, a rich visual + tonal vernacular, broadly read, a deep understanding of people. They need to be deeply-feeling themselves, and not Maslow's 'existential zombies.' They need an investigative & suspended disbelief, but also a discernment and sanity to prevent psychosis. Far beyond just buttons + sliders. Much closer to a novelist or anthropologist.
Beyond ENGINEER,
a deep-seated intuition of machine intelligence: how they traverse latent space, what they can / cannot do well. A scientific approach to prodding this 'grown-not-built' intelligence. Far beyond just CRUD apps. Practically: ability to fine-tune + benchmark models, among other skills, to bridge machine intelligence to the more design/humanistic.
FWIW: all this is very good for a field — software design — that has recently (and rightfully) become the butt of jokes, and seen as a very unserious discipline

yes indeed, last night an ai agent accessed my bank account and purchased a couple of beers at my local bar
