And using the government employees (public school educators) to legally rat on your own child is quite literally fascism, folks
Conservatives will do all sorts of mental gymnastics not to call anything they LIKE as actual authoritarianism

Not only is @LangersDeli home to the best pastrami in town, it's oh so easy to reach by transit! In our next #30for30 feature, owner Norm Langer describes how the opening of the B (Red) Line in 1993 breathed new life into his restaurant. thesource.metro.net/2023/07/…
Ready for a full day of exploring Tacoma!
First stop: Breakfast at @anthemcoffee before visiting Tacoma Arts Museum.
Side note: I did not intentionally dress to match my breakfast - it’s just that most of my wardrobe looks like a vanilla latte. 🌯☕️ – at Tacoma, WA
I started my trip to Tacoma, Washington for National League of Cities Transportation and Infrastructure Services Federal Advocacy Committee Summer Board Meeting the right way - by taking public transit from SEA-TAC to my hotel! It was free, timely, spacious, & easy to navigate. – at Tacoma, WA
Jumped on the 574 bus at the airport, and as there was no place to buy a transit card, I rode for free.
9 stops (~45 mins) to the Tacoma-Dome to connect with the T-Line (a free downtown commuter rail).
55 mins total trip. $0. ($2.75 if I did pay).
Ride-share options: ~$75 – at Tacoma, WA
Shoutout to @streetsforall for the best head-turning, values-oriented, travel shirt. 🙌 🚌 – at SeaTac, WA

In 1924, the first neon sign in the United States was posted around the corner from Pershing Square. Commemorating this art form, neon artist Antonakos created Neons for Pershing Square, a series of neon sculptures suspended from the station’s high ceiling.

Single-stair apartment buildings can be a great fit for compact lots. They easily integrate with the existing fabric of cities and can be built almost anywhere.
Sadly, American building codes make new single-stair buildings illegal in most cities, even though they are broadly accepted across the globe. Updating these building codes could unlock a plethora of new housing options in supply constrained American cities.
Heads up, WeHo! Metro has a planned installation of new bus priority lanes along N. La Brea Avenue in WeHo and LA.

This is not normal. Nor is the right-wing’s obsession with guns & recent opposition to common-sense gun safety regulations. We don’t have to live this way.
Mass shootings broke out at festivals, block parties and other gatherings in a handful of cities this week as the U.S. celebrated July Fourth.
Gun violence left more than a dozen dead and almost 60 wounded, including children as young as 2 years old. apnews.com/article/july-four…
