If you are voting in Richmond Hill wards 1, 2 or 4 today, I highly recommend Nicole Nikolaidis.

Tonight, the school board trustee candidates for Richmond Hill Wards 1, 2 and 4 participated in a panel organized by the Richmond Hill Board of Trade and others (more on that tomorrow). One candidate, Nicole Nikolaidis, is an expert in eduction with an impressive resume nicolenikolaidis.com/ . As a parent, she spoke from experience and had good ideas. She is exactly the sort of person who should be a school board trustee. I had never met her before this week, but she has earned my vote. #richmondhill

A very interesting debate from five candidates campaigning to be the leader of the Ontario Liberal Party. There must be over 200 people in the audience. #onpoli

Less than 50% for the PCs in York-Simcoe is unheard of. This is the real story tonight. The 905 is in play. #onpoli

Why do we have to sit through Brenden Little at Blue Jays games?

My great grandfather Samuel was a pharmacist in St. Petersburg during the Russian Revolution. Under Lenin, the family was able to continue living there. However, after Stalin consolidated power, my great grandfather was thrown in jail. The story goes that my great grandmother Sara had diamonds sewn into her shoes, which she used to bribe the guards and get him out of jail. Part of the family escaped Russia hidden in a hay cart while an older child was killed on a train for his watch. Like millions of others, my family was a victim of Communism. Today is Black Ribbon Day, a day to remember the victims of Communism. It tends to focus on what happened after Stalin and Hitler signed the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact to split Eastern Europe on August 23, 1939. It's not quite on point, but today seemed like an appropriate day to remember this family history. I do not consider myself a victim of communism, because I am sure I live a better life in Canada than my family ever would have lived in Russia even without a revolution. However, I am sure that my great grandparents would have felt differently. #neverforget

I took the TTC to Roger’s Stadium for GNR. Of course, as usual, the TTC doesn’t care about riders going north.
