🧵Growing up Wog in Australia My mum migrated to Australia in 1972, I was 7 years old when we landed here from Egypt. At school I was called wog and made to feel like I didn’t belong, like I was stupid because I couldn’t speak English. It didn’t matter I spoke French, Italian, – at Sydney, New South Wales

Auspost #auspol
The last 2 yrs of Christine Holgate’s tenure, $155 MILLION PROFIT. It was CEO @auspost Paul Graham’s DECISION to turn the company in the opposite direction, he saw no need for a Retail Network. The result over 4 yrs, $377 MILLION of LOSSES. This CEO's position is now untenable!

#Bupa stole $40M from the Defence department. The company has not paid it back yet . But don't worry, #Bupa is still in the running for a new Defence contract because theft doesn't exclude companies from getting contracts under Labor. #Corruption #ADF

SUPERANNUATION IS SOON GOING TO COST TAXPAYERS MORE THAN THE PENSION The latest intergenerational report has been released and its shows the cost of superannuation tax concessions will soon exceed the cost of the pension. Superannuation tax concessions already cost the budget almost $63 billion, just short of the cost of the pension which is $65 billion. In other words, Australia's 15 million workers pay $4,000 more in income tax annually to fund superannuation tax concessions. This only slows down the rate at which a person can save for their house which means they end up taking out bigger mortgages and pay more interest to the bank over their working career. This is the myth about superannuation - that somehow it's going to get people off the pension. This is clearly not true as the percentage of people who retire with a mortgage has jumped from 10% to 40% since superannuation began. Yet the percentage of retirees on a full pension has barely decreased in all that time. Furthermore over half of the superannuation tax concessions go to the upper 20% of income earners. This means that superannuation is nothing but a transfer of wealth from hard working Australians struggling to make ends meet to the finance industry, unions, banks and wealthy individuals. People First believes superannuation tax free concessions should be capped at $25,000 per person per annum. Added to our $45,000 tax free threshold this will allow people to earn up to $70,000 a year in active income plus savings and pay no tax. We will allow people to withdraw their super as they wish so they can buy a house or pay down their loans faster saving them interest costs on their mortgage that aren't tax deductible. Our public bank will also offer passbooks to school children to teach them how to save. If you want to empower Australians to take control of their own savings and stop the massive rort called superannuation then please sign up to Peoplefirstparty.au today.

So anyone going to act on this? Lipstick on a pig is still a pig 🐷 @asicmedia should pay attention to the funds subscribing to this BS #supertick #auspol #scam
It’s not a great look, because some of those same funds over the same time period have also enjoyed the occasional outing in Bec Wilson’s syndicated column. #MediaWatch

I feel more people should be discussing Pauline Hanson suing over a satirical song about her back in 1997 and 2003. @PPantsdown (Simon Hunt) released a song, 'I'm A Backdoor Man' that arranged Hanson soundbites to have her saying . . . 'I'm very proud that I'm not natural. I'm a backdoor man for the Ku Klux Klan' and 'I'm a very caring potato', among other words of wisdom. Interestingly, Hanson's so-called support of satire escaped her and through her lawyers, she lodged defamation proceedings in the QLD courts, arguing the satire was injurious and defamatory and the lyrics and audio imputations falsely portrayed her as: • a homosexual, a transvestite/man, or a prostitute • engaging in unnatural sexual practices or pedophilia • associating with the Ku Klux Klan • being a subhuman or a "caring potato" (please try to read that with a straight face) The proceedings resulted in the granting of an injunction in Pauline Hanson's favour restraining the continued publication of the satirical material. After remaining legally dormant for roughly five years, Hanson reactivated the existing defamation case in the Supreme Court of Queensland in mid-2003. Legal analysts and media noted that Hanson revived the lawsuit specifically around the same time she was facing high-profile criminal charges and prison time for electoral fraud. Anywhoo, it seems Pauline Hanson and her team of bald men are very happy to cruelly and sadistically mock others, especially women with disabilities, but when it comes to mocking Pauline, that so-called sense of humour suddenly vaporises. .

The Govt's new aged care algorithm has been assessed as neither fair nor consistent. The Govt must listen to experts and ensure they don't pursue another robodebt-style automation designed to cut costs at the expense of desperately-needed support #auspol

6000 older people died last year waiting for aged care. But Labor remains wedded to an algorithm that's systemically under-assessing and denying care. Every older person deserves a human clinician determining their clinical needs – not a computer. youtu.be/VP34BGPCLDk?si=ppv0…

Older people have been saying this for months. Labor's automation of aged care assessments has been a disaster, under-assessing need and priority, denying care and driving up waitlists. It's past time to bin the whole thing and put humans back in charge of decision-making.

Coffee cups are getting attention. What about the people sleeping on Macquarie Street, right under the NSW Government’s nose? Reducing waste matters, but surely humans take priority? Where’s the urgency for people with nowhere to call home? passitonclothing.com.au

THE ALBANESE LIE LIST. THE LIST THAT NEVER ENDS. "$275 off your power bill." Electricity up 22.4% in a year once the rebates ran out. "No intention of making any super changes." Said again on national TV. Two days later, a new super tax. "My word is my bond." Stage 3 rewritten. "For the 50th time." Negative gearing and capital gains changed in the next Budget. A gambling report from a colleague who died of cancer. Australians losing $32 billion a year. Answered 1,049 days later, with no ad ban. Robodebt hurt 433,000 Australians. The watchdog has never held a public hearing, and nobody is going to court. A $411 million referendum, then a Makarrata Commission that was "not what we have proposed". AAP FactCheck: False. Islamic State-linked returnees, kept quiet for four months. One now charged with terrorism offences. 1.2 million homes promised. 124,000 behind. 169,000 households waiting for public housing. $10 billion for social housing. 1,432 homes after three years. "No one will be removed without somewhere to go." 241,000 off the NDIS, most of them kids. A record $860 million on consultants, and PwC back on the list. Fuel supply "secure". Three days later, the legal minimum cut. Diesel now near $3. "End the rorts." Then $559 million by invitation, 73.2% to Labor seats. "No, we are not." Fifteen days later, Palestine recognised. A royal commission would "delay action". Twenty-five days later, a royal commission. "A two in front." Four rate rises, and about $470 a month more on the average new mortgage. "I did not speak to the former Qantas CEO before a decision was made." The diary shows a meeting. Interest on the national debt: $27 billion last year. About $51,000 a minute. And the list goes on… Cold Hard Facts. Corrected when wrong. No misinformation. What's your thoughts…? Peter Lyndon-James 🇦🇺 Sources: as cited in Parts One to Eighteen; Final Budget Outcome 2025-26.
