Woke up this morning to a lot of hype around this new integration - so I decided to dig in and see whatโs really going on.
From what I can see:
It's a smart business move - Lovable keeps users within its ecosystem, and Shopify gains extra signups. Win-win.
But this isnโt something you can use to build themes or plug into your existing theme.
Web Designers - you're setting up your Figma projects wrong if you want to translate your designs into code
Most of you are:
โNot using auto-layout (enough)
โNot building with components
โNot setting up proper nesting
On a fixed-width canvas, if it looks right, it feels done

๐ With proper nesting + auto-layout, the results are far cleaner (and more responsive).

(3/4) Using a starter theme saves time, budget, and decision fatigue - especially when the new design overlaps heavily with existing patterns.
It also stops designers from having to reinvent every single component of the storefront (usually unnecessary)

A big lesson learned to me is only help those who value their time more than their money. Free users generally value money more than time, so theyโll never share money but will take all your time, because they donโt value your time like they donโt value their own time.
