When I started my last Internet company RadicalMail, I made the mistake of moving too quickly and it cost my company $30 million. 'Internet Speed' dictated that we move fast. But here's the top 10 mistakes I made on a personal level: 1) Vet your partner(s). I could have done a much better job at this. 2) Repeat #1, in case you missed it the first time. 3) Read every contract. Understand every contract. 4) Nothing has to happen today. If it does, it's probably the wrong deal. 5) Understand 'dilution' before you raise outside money. 6) Realize that 'dilution' isn't always a bad thing (it can be very good). 7) Set Expectations. If you're in a relationship, make sure your partner is on board with the 'start-up' lifestyle. 8) Set Boundaries. Know what you're willing to give up to reach your goals. Stick to that. 9) It's never too early to get legal advice. Or hire a good accountant. Or find a mentor. 10) Enjoy. Maybe this should be #1. I had a blast at RadicalMail. I made some money. I learned a lot. I worked with a ton of excellent people. Use the above as a guidepost - and let me know your biggest tips. We can start a list together.

That last episode of @theallinpod @Jason and all the Trump + Elon fawning finally sent me over the edge. You all be well in your 1% bubble.

This did not age well.
Replying to @HeyJordanRistow
Do you listen to Dr. Peter Attia and his podcast ‘The Drive’? Really good, and this week’s episode in particular about training for longevity (via muscle mass and strength). Great list.

Another one of my heroes bites the dust. @PeterAttiaMD
Beyond disgusted that Peter Attia MD, a man who I have followed for years and genuinely looked up to, is in the Epstein files over 1000 times.

Getting gouged by @hubspot has become one of the sad truths of doing business with them. Revenue more important than the customer experience.

I thought I would never say this, but it actually feels great being back on X. Did you miss me while I was gone?

Used to love the @theallinpod. And maybe I’ll go back late November. But it’s just become a soapbox for @DavidSacks to go on and on and on about his candidate, with the only real smart challenges coming from the guest (kudos @reidhoffman - well done). What happened @Jason?

If Siri is any indication, we have nothing to worry about with AI.

This experiment puts the Manhattan Project to shame.
I ordered a triple cheeseburger with everything removed. Stay tuned to see what happens

Maybe @elonmusk can give some of that $50 billion to the slave labor that mines Cobalt for his batteries in the Congo.

I worked on a commercial once in a galaxy far away with Shaq, Wilt, Kareem, Bill Russell, and the one and only Bill Walton. In between takes, everyone would get together, tell stories, laugh their asses off, and have fun - except for Kareem who kept to himself, as he and Wilt didn’t get along for whatever reason. The highlights were Bill Russell’s and Bill Walton’s laughter, which were both non-stop. Walton in particular thanked each crew member after the shoot, and you could just tell he had mastered the one important thing: enjoying life. RIP Bill Walton. Truly one of a kind. youtu.be/boitx9pTxOw?si=44Qs…

Here’s all the math you need: Reality - Expectations = Happiness If the result is a positive number, welcome.
