Israelis are voting in their first national election since the October 7th attacks, with high turnout reported. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces a strong challenge from former military chief Gadi Eisenkot. Polls suggest neither party will secure a parliamentary majority, potentially leading to weeks of coalition negotiations.
Gunmen have killed at least 62 people in northeastern Nigeria. Officials say the attack also wounded 52 people and displaced thousands. Authorities blame criminal groups, warning the death toll could rise as recovery efforts continue.
And the Ethiopian Orthodox Church reports at least 60 Christians killed in two attacks in the country. Regional authorities blame the Oromo Liberation Army, which denies targeting civilians. More than 20 people were seriously wounded, and several homes were burned amid ongoing regional conflict.

Thank you @EYakoby - just today I got another message from a Canadian Jewish family. Here is part of what they shared with me:
“The situation here is becoming increasingly frightening for us. Today’s re-election of Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow has deepened our concern even more. We feel that her leadership has abandoned Jewish Canadians in Toronto as antisemitism continues to affect our community.
We are also terrified by what our children are experiencing. At Wilfrid Laurier University, where they study, Jewish students’ mezuzahs were torn from their doors and smashed. This past week, near Jewish students’ off-campus housing at Western University, a swastika was spray-painted using gasoline.
(My husband) and I are truly seeking to leave Canada as soon as possible. We would be eager to build a life in the United States and contribute meaningfully to the American economy. We would be grateful for any practical guidance, connections, or assistance that could help us understand our options and move forward as quickly as possible.
We would truly appreciate it if you can please keep us informed of any substantive developments involving President Trump and Secretary of State Rubio, particularly if any concrete support or pathway for Jewish Canadians seeking to leave Canada begins to take.
If there is anything you need from our end, please let us know. Happy to complete any paperwork needed or happy to speak via teams /zoom if needed.

This is their clear acknowledgment that simply identifying as a woman does not change basic human biology!
