Imagine tracking the prices of the resources powering AI through an onchain index..🤯
That’s exactly what @injective introduces with the launch of the Super Intelligence Compute Index ( $SICI)
But how does it work? 👀
AI requires massive computing power to train and run models. Companies rent NVIDIA GPUs to access this power, and 𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗜 tracks the rental prices of five GPU models, each with a different weighting:
▪ H100 ⇾40% weight
▪ B200 ⇾ 25% weight
▪ H200 ⇾ 15% weight
▪ A100 ⇾ 10% weight
▪ RTX 4090 ⇾10% weight
A simple example:
As AI demand grows, companies may need more computing power, pushing GPU rental prices higher. 𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗜 combines these price movements into a single weighted index.
Unlike NVIDIA stock, 𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗜 reflects the cost of renting the computing resources behind AI, not the price of NVIDIA shares.
