the biggest enemy of art is fear. fear of evolution, fear of doing something outside of your comfort zone "but what if people don't like this thing i made" who cares. release it doing the same thing over and over again out of fear only leads you to people forgetting about you

there's so many songs that i thought "man, i dont think people are gonna like this, its gonna flop" maybe maybe. sleep state. sayonara moon. you still linger in the air. hell, basically the entirety of the last two EPs but i released it all regardless and im forever happy i did

from the moment i started posting songs online i could've taken the "simpler" path and focus exclusively on doing bass music with sample chops, just for the sake of building an audience. but chances are, if i did that, everybody would have tuned out by now

so it pains me to see other fellow artists, especially people close to me, be in fear of themselves and of their own audience. my only hope is that we can all be true to ourselves and push beyond our comfort zones to make cool shit for the whole world to enjoy
