I can't fathom this bloke was running marathon for the first time and he never showed grimace that he was in pain.
That's why the commentators were also saying it seems Andreas Almgren is putting up a show like he was meant to run the marathon distance.
Andreas Almgren has run one of the best performances of his lifetime.
A huge shoutout to Yeman Croppa as well as no one was talking about Yeman Croppa but he has delivered on the biggest stage of marathoning and that battling out with Almgren at the end.
Don't forget Andreas Almgren couldn't compete in 2016 Rio Olympics, 2021 Tokyo Olympics & 2024 Paris Olympics because of the injuries.

Andreas Almgren before the 2026 NYC Marathon:
1. His mantra during the low phases in races- Don't be a CRY BABY.
2. Favourite Runner- Wilson Kipketer.
3. He predicts his finish time to be 2:07:30.
4. His plan is to sit with leaders and kick.
5. When asked how about what he thinks what he can do in marathon distance?
He answers that his potential can be so bad & be so good. More so he says- Marathon will be my best event. It might also be like I can't run marathons at all. Even he thinks this way shows he has got a lot of psychological flexibility and even he knows to decode marathon distance ain't that easy even if you can run a European Record at half marathon distance.
6. His POV is also Lifetime Ban if an athlete is found doping.
I don't but I think so he has the potential to run sub 2:02 in his first ever marathon. On the other side you can see him blowing up as well in the last 5 miles but I hope this bloke cracks the code of marathon in his debut.
