My favorite Oakland trifecta:
1. a story about an Oakland artist @aneesastrings
2. who got her start under the guidance of an OUSD teacher
3. written by yours truly, who also went through OUSD

✨We have some exciting news! This week we reached a tentative agreement on our full three-year collective bargaining agreement — the Cityside Guild’s first contract. This is a historic moment for both the workers at Cityside and the company.
Supriya has been integral to the success of our union. A thoughtful and talented journalist, a wonderful coworker and an amazing friend. We're so proud of you, Supriya! 🫶✊

Happy New Year! 🎉 We started bargaining today! This is a milestone for us, after months of work to finalize our contract proposal. Thanks for supporting our union and our bargaining committee as we begin this process. ✊💚
Congrats to Embarcadero Media’s newsroom on unionizing! The Cityside Guild supports @EMNewsGuild right to unionize and the staff’s desire for a diverse, equitable newsroom. They deserve living wages and a seat at the table where decisions impacting their livelihoods are made.

Shouting out @nat_orenstein, fellow @citysideguild reporter, whose crowd-sourced series on the history of Oakland homes I am obsessed with. You can submit a home for her to explore in her series next. Some pretty bomb folks producing local news at Cside📰
