Clare, you ought to raise more basic questions, as well. Under what system of governance is a government (evil by default) allowed to add substances not found in nature into everyone's food? This kind of policy is only possible when people are considered livestock: under communism. A restorative level of folate (not folic acid) is justified; no more.
