Today, I'll be speaking at the Climate Forward @nytimesevents, exploring which initiatives should be scaled up & put into place to ensure clean, healthy air. "We can’t breathe: respecting human rights in a changing climate" at 12:45 PM | 🔗👉bit.ly/3FTL3v5 #NYTCF @AYICC
But, why must Africa's #COP27 come with this inconvenience?
The situation of accommodation here in @COP27P is terrible. You cannot share an accommodation with your fellow brother with this hike in prize. People are now stranded, sleeping on the road, in bus station. Why is this wickedness.

#COP27 starts today in #Egypt and we are living on borrowed time. Worsening climate chaos is causing pain and suffering. We cannot postpone #ClimateAction. The people of #Africa need action at #cop27 and beyond.
If you carry your own water, you will know what every drop means.
Preserving the environment is good business.
Nigeria must work to scale up awareness, particularly, at the grassroot before We all become Victims of any #ClimateEmergency or #ClimateCrisis

The race to net-zero by 2030 is feasible if nations commit more to the #ParisAgreement and collaborate to accelerate the transition to renewable energy.
The horrors of the war in Ukraine should not put #ClimateAction on the back burner.
Doubling down on fossil fuels is not the answer.
The only path to energy security, stable power prices & a livable planet lies in accelerating the renewable energy transition.
One of the beauty of #TheclimateBook is that it helps to bridge the knowledge-gap between the critical voices demanding individuals and collective responsibilities to scale #ClimateAction and the many ignoramuses/ Climate Denials seeking to protect fossil fuel interest.
I'm honoured to have contributed a chapter to this powerful & highly readable book, in solidarity with over 100 scientists, activists, artists & changemakers all sharing key perspectives & possibilities. Thank you @GretaThunberg for bringing so many voices together. #climatebook

Obviously, despair can't be an option now. What we must do and insist on is step-up #climateadvocacy. Perhaps, this time, more creatively & engagingly cc @climatevoicesNG
