I'm working with the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Indian Tribes to address historic inequities relating to their water supplies. I support the Tribes pursuing funding from the Inflation Reduction Act to compensate them for water they don’t use but have the right to. (1/4)
I continue to urge the Bureau of Reclamation to address this historical inequity and to identify a funding source for Tribal forbearance projects, as the IRA specifically provides for projects that reduce demands on the Colorado River. (3/4)
I applaud Colorado Senators @Hickenlooper and @MichaelBennet and Governor @jaredpolis for their support in this effort. Please read their letter to USBR here urging for funding for Tribal forbearance projects (4/4): tinyurl.com/4eyjccn7

.@dangibbsDNR @CoRiverBecky met w/@SenatorHick and @SenatorBennet and CO water users to hear how water shortages impact our state. Thanks to the Senators for their continued support of #coriver UDS Alternative and for protecting our most vital water supply.
I presented on #CoRiver UDS Alternative at the CO State Capitol today and emphasized how the Upper Basin regularly takes cuts to our water use in response to hydrology and climate change. Thank you to @WaterEdCO for hosting this educational event for legislators! #coleg
It was an honor to be @SenatorHick's guest at the SOTU. The invitation was in recognition of the Colorado River Upper Division states submitting our proposal to build back storage in Lakes Powell and Mead while living within the river's supply limits. Thank you @SenatorHick!

The Colorado River is a critical water source for Utah. I was glad to receive an update from the Upper Colorado River Commissioners—including Utah’s Gene Shawcroft—on their latest discussions concerning our states’ shared usage of the river.
I'm pleased to share the Upper Division States Alternative--proposing Post-2026 operations of Powell and Mead. The UDS Alt. provides for sustainable operations aligned with hydrology, helps rebuild storage, and operates w/i the Law of the River. More: cwcb.colorado.gov/coloradori…
