You don't have to be D1 to play at the next level. Fortunate to have coached each one of these at the D2 level in my career! Who's next?!?!

Harrison Smith became just the third player since individual sacks became an official statistic in 1982 to record at least 40 interceptions and 20 sacks in a career. @vikings profootballhof.com/news/extr…
Common way for O to attack Qtrs, motion RB to widen low hole, count on slot to gain leverage on LB for an easy catch. Good by the Will of squeezing in to force an overthrow. Will sees 3 away, squeeze slant all day. Safety Caps 2 for pick! Players Make Plays, Players Win Games!
Throwback to 2022! Playing a Box concept against the cluster, they ran the screen 2x already. Here they wanted the Sucker, but Safety and CB had it bracketed! 13 played with an attitude unmatched! Relentless pursuit, violent shots! Players Make Plays, Players Win Games!

Sadly happens to so many kids every year in the portal…they elect to trade in their career for a paycheck that isn’t even life changing money.
WR Jalen Jones had 1,100 yards receiving at Alabama State last year. In the off season I was sent his tape from his HS coach, "Rico can you assess his talent and give him a grade."
I gave him an FCS grade and recommended a better FCS team for his final year.
The next week he signed to Texas Tech...
I remember thinking...what do they see? I don't see a P4 player in the slightest. This is a terrible move.
Week 9 and the young man has 4 receptions for 26 yards.
I was correct, don't chase money and let an agent set you up for a terrible final season of college football. Go where you can get on the field (have an impact, get film) and enjoy your college football experience.

Alignments should put you in position to make plays. CB levers ball, Will fits the kick, Mike scrapes to spill, safety is ultimate contain in this QQH coverage. 3Bo triggers with macho intent! Nowhere to run to baby, nowhere to hide! Players Make Plays, Players Win Games

Worth two minutes of your time to hear Jimmy Rogers lay bare one of the main ills facing big-time college sports and the athletes themselves.
Iowa State Daily's @henry_annen asked Rogers what he needs from new AD Jared Benko to elevate Iowa State football.
Good stuff.
ELITE assignment by the right safety. 6 man cover 1 pressure we assign the edge blitzers to cover any RB post-snap swing, vs motion to empty the cap safety covers the RB. Great eye discipline leads to a 6 on 5 pressure with tight coverage! Players Make Plays, Players Win Games.
Educate, motivate, and inspire young men to maximize their abilties and help them to be at their best when their best is needed most! So proud of the path they are on! Thank God! Alot of sacks and disruption from 1 and 51 over the years too! Players make plays, Players win games!

Oh my.
Division 2 school Texas A&M-Kingsville took down Houston Christian in an exhibition, 74-67.
Hats off to @JavelinaMBB!
Excellent display of pressure alignment, timing forcing a tipped ball and #2 Coleman high pointing it for a big time takeaway!

#Titans head coach Robert Saleh gave one of the most INCREDIBLE explanations of defensive football youever hear during a press conference.
For nearly 7 minutes, Saleh broke down his defensive philosophy, why his system is so difficult to master, and how it produces ELITE defenses.
He discussed learning from Pete Carroll, Vic Fangio, and Monte Kiffin, while explaining why understanding an offense is more important than simply knowing your assignment.
Robert Saleh is one of the BRIGHTEST defensive minds in football.
This is a MASTERCLASS in coaching.
