And then the next prerequisite is your relationship with your parents. It’s got to be respectful. When I was 20 years younger, I would probably take on any talent. Bring it. I got stamina for you for days.” “But throughout my years of coaching, I found out that I spend a whole lot more time on those type of players than the ones that were doing the right thing. And that’s really unfair.” “It’s like parenting. My mother spent a whole lot of time with the boys in the family because they were boys and they just did things. Less time with us doesn’t mean she loved us any less.” “But I just try to balance that out with surrounding this program with great people because the talent’s there, the coaching’s there, the fan base is here. The only thing our players really have to do is go to class and buy in on the basketball court.”
