You’re going to face adversity your entire life. It’s not a choice. How you respond to it is. – at North Bennington, VT

Never watched Northland MSOCC go from bottom of the table to top 3 (five years straight) clearly 😂

“I’d rather be us today” -Jesse Marsch (probably)

US Court System just runs the NCAA now apparently. Good grief.

Sincerely hope I’m still doing this in 5 years because I would love to see college soccer where everyone has to recruit traditional college aged student-athletes. Make no mistake - I am absolutely celebrating these rule changes. Get rid of the pros in college soccer.

If I had a Time Machine I would go back to 2002 and make a much stronger case to my mom and step dad that I should be allowed to stay up past my bed time to watch the game against Germany. Truly might never see that round again.

For all the licenses that are on the sidelines, the last two nights have been stunning. For Mexico, you spend 20 minutes launching the ball into a block setup to defend… crosses (Why else was Dan Burn put in the game?). No overloads, no getting to the endline, just lump it into the mixer and repeat. For USA, well, the mistakes that were made were awful, and it was from start to finish. Players actively avoiding having to do something on the ball, waiting for someone else to deal with danger, an astonishing number of passes to players wearing the wrong jersey… the list goes on and on. When a few players aren’t ready for the moment, fine. With that being said, I don’t know how anyone can say the entire squad didn’t look ready though, and that’s far more worrisome.

This team was mentally not ready for this moment. Not even close.

This USA team is playing timid and afraid. Afraid to make mistakes and constantly looking for someone else to deal with things defensively. Hiding. The good news? For as horrific as that 45 minutes was were down 1 and it could easily have been 4 or 5.

Maybe the expansion doesn’t water anything down. What a match. 🇨🇻 🇦🇷

Dzeko just looked like Mike Alstott blocking for Warrick Dunn

That was the best first half I’ve ever seen the USMNT play at this type of stage in a long time.

People who rush forward in planes from the back as soon as they get to the gate should be fined. Immensely. Change my mind

Club soccer tournaments should never encouraging losing. Coaching in a tournament this weekend (U17). 2 groups in our bracket. Winners of the groups play in championship, and second place from each group plays in a… second championship with winners from both going to bigger tournaments. The loser of the real championship? Nothing. If you’re wondering if that created an environment where folks talked about tanking games and genuinely wanted to avoid the real championship… you can wonder no further. It absolutely did. Great stuff.

If you got the energy to fight after a bad loss you probably didn’t expend enough energy earlier to try to win the game.

Maybe I’m just old and grouchy but I have found there is a surplus of coaches in the NPL that think coaching is yelling and complaining to Reffs and have no issue if every game ends in a near fight. It’s like it’s normalized. Just insane.

Please pass this new eligibility rule. Seriously. Let’s let pros stay pro and 18-23 year olds do the college sports thing. How about that?
