I have often heard it said that if you don’t take responsibility for your healing, you’ll bleed over those who never cut you.
Throughout my life, I have met some amazingly strong individuals who have been through harder times than I could’ve ever imagined. The one common trait I see with each of those individuals who have come through the other side of trauma “successfully” is that they each took responsibility for their healing, and are now able to see it as PART of their story and who they are, but understand that it’s not their WHOLE story or WHO they are.
It’s certainly not easy, it may take longer than you expect or want, and it may hurt even more than the actual “event” or “events” itself, but it WILL be worth it!
