Your 12-year-old doesn’t need a $2000 recruiting service.
He needs to learn how to use deodorant.

A Sad Reality…
The biggest threat to team chemistry isn’t always a selfish player.
Sometimes it’s a selfish parent.
Very sad news. A great player and better person. Here.

Middle school and HS parents need to consider this new rule when looking to hold back their son for “educational reasons”. Holding him back in 7th grade to try and help his “education” may affect his college eligibility clock.
A beautiful wake this evening for Coach Gratts. A full chapel of black, brown, white, all ages, and all walks of life to celebrate a great coach and a better man.
May we all strive to have a similar turnout when our time comes.

When coaches tell me they want to be an AD the first question I typically ask them is, "have you ever had to fire a friend?"
Leadership is easy.
Until…
You have to hold someone accountable.
You’re criticized for doing the right thing.
You face a tough decision with no easy answer.
You take the blame for a mistake you didn’t make.
You lead people who don’t want to be led.
You’re expected to stay calm in chaos.
You sacrifice for the good of the team.
Leadership isn’t about a title. It’s about showing up when it’s hard.
That’s when real leaders stand out.
Choose to lead.
Cannot let today go by without wishing Pick a heavenly birthday.
I didn't know it at the time but his a** chewings & his expectations for excellence helped me prepare for my career more than any human ever.
Shall we see the galloping horseman tonight?

5. No system works without buy-in.
6. Success brings criticism, too.
7. Culture isn’t built in a week, it’s built daily.
8. You can’t coach every player the same way.
9. Wins don’t always reflect your impact.
10. The job takes more from you than it gives… until years later.
Still worth every second.
Still a great profession.
Very good thread and spot-on. Every head coach and aspiring head coach should follow this advice.
Even if you have a winning record, if you or your program is "unmanageable" it will cost you your job,
Great coaches keep issues off the AD's desk. Great AD's keep issues off the superintendent's desk. Great superintendents keep issues off of the Board of Trustees desks.
