The Valkyries are a team of underdogs. Kayla Thornton became just the 7th undrafted player to be named an all star last year, Veronica Burton was cut from the Wings in 2024, Gabby Williams not selected all-WNBA despite a career year, Kaitlyn Chen was cut by the Valks last May. Now they’re champions. This group proved team basketball wins over superstars. One of the best stories in sports. #wnba
