Be grateful for everyone who played a part in your journey, the good and the bad. Some gave you blessings, others gave you lessons. It all got you here 🙏🏽
There are roughly 537K boys HS basketball players in the USA.
🏀 1% go D1
🏀 1.1% go D2
🏀 1.5% go D3
That’s only 3.6% making it to NCAA basketball. Yes, you can beat the odds, but making excuses, missing practices, and skipping workouts won’t cut it.

Hey Coaches,
Someday, someone else will have your job.
They’ll sit in your office, wear your gear, and lead the program you once called yours.
That’s not meant to diminish the importance of your work. It’s simply a reminder that we’re all replaceable professionally.
But there are roles in your life that nobody else can fill.
Your children only have one you. Your spouse only has one you.
Don’t become so consumed with being excellent in a role that someone else can eventually fill that you neglect the roles that only you can fulfill.
I’m all for pursuing excellence in your profession.
But just make sure you're bringing that same commitment to the roles that only you can fulfill.
If a coach pushing you to be better makes you lose love for the sport, 9x out of 10 you never loved it like you thought you did.
You get out what you put in. If you’re full of excuses and don’t want to work why play? Everybody wants results, but not everybody wants to earn them
Thankful for the time spent and the experiences gained. Don’t be sad it’s over; be grateful you got to experience it. Onto bigger things 🤞🏽🙏🏽

Tim Bankston was found fatally shot on the South Side this morning.
Bankston, the high school basketball coach at TF North in Calumet City, was a Chicago basketball legend and a teammate of Ben Wilson at Simeon in the 1980s.
