I spent the last few days speaking with college coaches at all levels and divisions. ALL of them to a man said the same thing: "The 2027 and 2028 classes are going to carry the heaviest load from all these changes. The real winners in this current landscape are JUCO programs. The talent is going to need to find a home. Starting in 2029 , all of that JUCO Talent is going to be in demand!" Message, find a spot where you can play and a good fit!
MIF that took some HUGE strides this summer and fall. The bat continues to improve and the power is loading with a busy off season in the weight room. On the bump worked as one of our main relievers and kept hitters off balance with a 3 pitch mix. A legit 2028 that is climbing.📈

Beyond proud of this kid. Has been awesome to see him take some huge strides over the past couple of years as a ball player and human. From talking about Oregon State being his ideal school, to making it a reality is a testament to his motivation & drive! Keep going B!! 👊🏽👊🏽
I am extremely humbled and grateful to announce that I will be continuing my academic and baseball career at Oregon State University!
First, I want to thank my dad for pushing me to be the best person, teammate, friend, and player I can be. You have been my mentor, coach, biggest supporter, and someone who has always had my back. I also want to thank my mom for being my biggest supporter and always being there to keep me accountable. You were the person who helped me get through the toughest times. I owe everything you to. To my sister, thank you for always keeping me in check and keeping me humble. I would not be where I am today without you all. Thank you for all the sacrifices you have made and the opportunities you have given me to succeed. I am forever grateful for everything you have done for me. I also want to thank my friends for supporting me and pushing me throughout this journey and helping me become the person I am today.
I want to thank @CoachVargi for pushing me to become a better teammate and leader while strengthening me mentally. To Coach Brandon @BHSEaglesBsbl thank you for being a mentor, a leader, and a friend; you will always mean a lot to me. You are someone I have looked up to for the past eight years, and I am grateful for the impact you have had on my life. I also want to thank Coach Bill, my pitching coach for the past five years. Thank you for helping me through so much and shaping me into the player and person I am today. You have changed my life for the better, and I will always be grateful for everything you have done for me. Thank you to all the coaches who have played a role in my journey and helped me get to where I am today.
Lastly, I want to thank @MitchellCanham , @GipsonOSU ,@CoachAMoore23 , and the entire @BeaverBaseball coaching staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to compete at the next level. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and excited to get to work, continue improving, and keep earning this opportunity every day.

The 2027 recruiting class is getting screwed right now..
Between the transfer portal, roster limitations, and the uncertainty surrounding the new 5-for-5 eligibility rule, college coaches don't even know which players they'll have returning next year
But here's something I wish more families understood...
If your ultimate goal is to play baseball for a long time and potentially get drafted, STOP obsessing over the division
Find a coaching staff that's going to pour into you. A staff that has an actual plan to develop you physically, mechanically, and mentally over the next 3-4 years
I'd rather see a kid go D2 or D3 and become an absolute STUD than go D1 just to say he's D1
Stop choosing colleges based on the logo on the jersey. Choose the coaching staff that's going to turn you into the player you want to become!

Hitters. I challenge you next time you get a bad call at the plate, have a stoic, unresponsive reaction. The benefit of this is immeasurable.
1. It looks mature and polished. Looking like mental toughness.
2. If this stoicism takes hold internally, you're better equipped to complete the at bat with a clear head. Unemotional and calculated.
The mindset becomes, "So what. I only need one anyway." You're no longer a victim, feeling sorry for yourself. You're not bringing baggage to the next pitch. You're defiantly confident.
Be a rock in the box.
If you must respond, ask the umpire respectfully, "Is that as far as it goes to that side?" Or, "Is that the edge?" The umpire will get the message (they know when they miss a pitch a lot of times and appreciate you not showing them up), and respect you for the rest of your days.
But plate presence, aura and confidence build. Teammates, coaches and opponents take notice. You become unshakable. Even if it's strike 3. Shake your head (yes or no, doesn't matter) and move on. It'll do wonders for your game (and life).

No lies detected!!! If you’re a 2028 that’s getting looks right now, it’s a credit to the ball player you are, and the organization you are with that helped get you the exposure.
The current baseball recruiting environment is the most difficult I’ve ever seen. Portal, 5 for 5, competitive JUCO. It’s made HS recruiting very difficult. Some of the P4s including the SEC have 12x 2028 commits. We all know that’s not real. Maybe at best 4x make it to campus. Meanwhile the top of the top schools in D2 like GVSU, Davenport and SVSU aren’t even considering 2028s yet. Just starting the conversation. It’s a crazy recruiting scenario right now. Get in where you fit in. Go where you can play!!!
My guy don’t miss.
Sometimes, a hitter's contact point is the cause of mechanical breakdowns, especially with youth players that aren't quite physically developed enough to make up for it with strength.
If the contact point is too deep, it can look like an uppercut or lacking extension. Why would the body extend through if the ball is long gone already?
If contact is too far out front, hitters will lunge towards contact and be overly pull oriented. How can the body make contact if the ball isn't within the bat's reach?
Immediately resorting to mechanical tinkering is a commonly tried attempt at "fixing" things. Instead, change the targeted contact point. It could be the magic fix that eliminates the mechanical issue. The mental dictates the mechanics.
