Great comments from Coach Painter on fan bases, the dangers of social media, and the need to see things for what they are. Social media rarely reflects reality.

Regardless of who your favorite team is, Saquon Barkley should be celebrated by everyone. This article is a MUST READ for all competitors and coaches. A great example of being both #Humble and #Unselfish. #MUDITA @saquon

Coach Fran, was instrumental in building a belief system in winning at @UNMLoboFB Was blessed as my son played on his team and Rocky Long as well. He used to have t shirts printed each week that said "Expect to win 1" then 2, then 3....great coach
The last time UNM turned to the FCS ranks for its next head coach things turned out well. Dennis Franchione was hired by New Mexico from then FCS (or 1-AA) Texas State on Dec. 4, 1991. He had compiled a 13-9 record in 2 seasons at Texas State. Franchione was named WAC Coach of the Year just two years later after guiding the Lobos to a winning season in 1993. He was named WAC Coach of the Year again in 1997 after leading UNM to its first bowl game in 36 years. He remains one of just 4 Lobo head coaches to receive conference Coach of the Year honors.
Coach Jason Eck now enters his tenure as Lobo Head Coach after amassing a 26-13 record with 3 FCS playoff appearances as the head coach of the Idaho Vandals.
Big time ball coach. Knows the option as well as anyone, anywhere. Very grateful for our friendship and my time spent working and learning under Coach Franchione! @LoboFBHistory @AggieFootball

Love this. Need more of it, not just in sports, but in society as a whole. Pretty good character trait to have. #MUDITA #UNSELFISHNESS #TEAM
A word that changed everything for me?
"Muditā"
It means finding joy in others' success. Celebrating when your teammates, friends, and family win as if their victory is your own.
In 48 years of baseball, I've learned that the most successful teams aren't just talented.
They're united.
They lift each other up.
Whether it was the 2007 Rockies or the 2013 Pirates, our greatest moments happened when we celebrated each other.
Life's not a solo sport. It's a team game.
The game taught me about more than baseball.
It taught me about life. Those lessons coming soon in Hurdle-isms. Tap the link in my bio to preorder a copy
