Let's look at Army Head Coach Jeff Monken.
He went 38-16 Georgia Southern in 4 seasons.
They were 21-23 in the 4 seasons prior to him.
Army went 40-126 in the 14 seasons before he arrived.
In his 13 years at West Point he is 94-65.
This is South Carolina State University Head Football Coach Chennis Berry.
He is 52-15 as a Head Coach.
27-7 at Benedict College.
They were 29-56 the 9 seasons prior.
25-8 at South Carolina State.
They were 8-14 the 2 seasons prior.
Did You Know?
Before becoming a Broyles Award winner and a College Football Head Coach, Gus Malzahn was a High School Football Head Coach.
He went 144-36-1 over a 14 year span across 3 schools in Arkansas. He also won 3 State Championships.
I don't think Matt Patricia will be a serious candidate for CFB HC jobs.
I do think he'll be looked at for NFL DC jobs if he wants.
There are a couple CFB jobs that I could see minimal interest but nothing too serious.
I'm going to be honest,
I'm not sure if any of the current vacancies are big enough to land Jason Eck or JaMarcus Sheppard.
Now there are a few other schools that may become vacant and those are much more interesting.
I think UCLA can be a great place long term and that Bob Chesney can build something special.
I also think that there will be a few marquee programs that will be making a huge offer.
UCLA needs to be ready to update that contract.
Coach Brennan has been doing some really great things on and off the field at Arizona this year.
NEW: Arizona head coach Brent Brennan bought around 300 tequila shots (roughly $2,000) for fans at a local bar following the Wildcats’ win over Iowa State😂

Remember When?
Jim McElwain was the Head Coach of the Florida Gators.
After winning a National Championship as Alabama OC and successfully rebuilding Colorado State as a Head Coach, McElwain went to Florida.
He went 22-12 and was let go in the middle of his 3rd season.
You want a hard truth?
Not every coach understands the place they coach at. Sure you can learn, but more often than not there is no time for that.
And just because you are a great coach does not make you a great fit.
