Cockfield United FC

🐓🐓 𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗟 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡 𝗔𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗦 🔥 🥵 𝗨𝗣 🐓🐓 A first home game in well over a month is a welcome start to November as we host Capel Plough at The Green on Saturday The Firsts will be aiming to replicate the result of the Reserves from last week when they beat Capel Plough Reserves! An exciting month sees us take the long trip to Gunton Athletic 🚐 the week after in the Junior Cup before we finish the month with a tricky tie against Woolverstone United! All eyes though are on this weekends 13:45KO at The Green as our pursuit of points to keep us top goes on! Bar will be open so why not join the lads on the sidelines ☕️🍺 ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #UptheCocks #lovefootball #lovenonleague #grassrootsfootball #football

🐓🐓 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣 🐓🐓 It's been an up and down and very busy month for the Reserves but one that continues to see them progress in more ways than one. We started with a good point against a resurgent Woolverstone Reserves. The disappointment was tangible though as we gave up a 2 goal lead late on. The following week the lads bounced back with a scintillating 6-1 win to progress to the next round of the Primary Cup against Woodbridge Town Development 💥 That feeling of optimism soon disappeared as we were brought back down to earth in a madcap game at home in the league to AFC Kesgrave 'A'; conceding 2 penalties and playing most of the game with 10 men 🟥. We ended up losing 3-1 but disappointed not to get something out of the game on the balance of chances. We returned to cup action after that disappointing loss and to be honest we just came up against a side a bit too good for us on the day as we crashed out of the Reserve Cup and into the Plate losing 5-0 to Div 3 Old Newton Reserves. Happily we ended the month on a high note where a close, uneventful game despite the best efforts of the man in the middle, was eventually edged by ourselves 1-0 against Capel Plough Reserves to leave us in the top half of the table as we head into November ❄️! Contrast this with 12 months ago and we are 6 points and 4 places better off! Hopefully November keeps seeing the Reserves build on their good start 🤞 ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #Upthecocks #football #lovefootball #nonleague #grassrootsfootball

🐓🐓 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗢𝗖𝗧𝗢𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣 🐓🐓 A mixed bag of games and results in October for the First Team Progressing in the cups and a win and a loss in the league. It all started so well with tricky fixtures negotiated at Whitton and Witnesham and comfortable wins gained before we came unstuck at Kesgrave in appalling conditions. We bounced back on the weekend just gone although some uncharacteristic mistakes in the 2nd half meant it was much harder work than we would have liked! All that means in the league we are still top of the pile, although a lengthy chasing pack remains in touch as the table begins to take shape! After a tough start we will take that and aim to push on! ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #UptheCocks #lovefootball #lovenonleague #grassrootsfootball #football

🐓🐓 𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗢𝗡 🐓🐓 It was a first win in 3 for the Reserves on Saturday as they climb back into the top half of the table with a battling 1-0 win at home to Capel Plough Reserves Plenty of endeavour but a little low on quality we eventually found a way when a Tom Halliday effort took a big deflection to deceive the Capel keeper and into the net! It was a moment reflective of the game but felt well earned by the lads who kept going right to the very end! Either way it's 3 points that lifts the spirits ahead of a tough looking November! Bring it on! ⚽️ - Own goal ⭐️ - H. Boughtwood ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #UptheCocks #lovefootball #lovenonleague #grassrootsfootball #football

🐓🐓 𝗡𝗢 𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗥𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗪...𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 🐓🐓 The First Team made it through to the 3rd round of the Bob Coleman Cup via a penalty shootout in a spine tingling tie 💀 4-4 after normal time the tie went straight to pens where we perfect from the spot and no. 1 Utteridge made himself big to get us through against a rambunctious Hadleigh Brettsiders A drab first half by ourselves saw us deservedly come in 1 down at the break. Too slow to the punch whilst we had the best chances we were never convincing as Hadleigh pinched the lead just before the break! 2nd half we came out with renewed vigour as we rang the changes and upped the ante to quickly turn it round to go 2-1 up though goals from Mantle and we looked in control but we shot ourselves in the foot when playing out to give away a pen which was converted to make the scores level. Incredibly we got caught again at the back to go 3-2 down minutes later and it looked like our 2nd half efforts had been undone. But back we came and goals from Sadler and Ward had our noses back in front before a catalogue of errors allowed Hadleigh to tie it up once more following a great finish from the edge of the box to make it 4-4 So to penalties it went and we drew first blood at 1-1 as Utteridge guessed right and then another was dragged onto the post. We kept our nerve and converted all 4 to progress to the next round. Credit to Hadleigh who worked hard, disrupted and battled on what was a spookily bad pitch. They played the conditions perfectly as we went through the motions somewhat. Some positives but we know we need to be better and manage the game with more conviction if we are to achieve what we expect of ourselves! ⚽️ - C. Mantle x2, A. Sadler, O. Ward 🎯 - C. Steed, C. 🐓🐓 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗜𝗠 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 🐓🐓 The Reserves are targeting a win to get back on track after a few weeks where things haven't quite gone our way. The lads know it won't be easy against a Capel side better than their current position in the table. A 5-0 loss to a very competent Old Newton Res side in the league cup has sharpened the minds and upped the desire for a positive result to try and get the team back in the top half of the table! It's a 14:00KO at the Green and the lads would love your support if you can make it down! ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #UptheCocks #lovefootball #lovenonleague #grassrootsfootball #football

🐓🐓 𝗪𝗘'𝗥𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬 𝗪𝗜𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗩𝗘𝗦… 𝗪𝗘'𝗥𝗘 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗪𝗜𝗡 𝗔 𝗖𝗨𝗣 𝗧𝗜𝗘! 🐓🐓 The Cocks First Team travel to Hadleigh Brettsiders on Saturday in the Bob Coleman Cup 2nd round. After our walkover in the last round, as Hope Church decided to have a training game instead of play us, we are just hoping to have a game! Determined to get back to winning ways on the pitch after last weeks disappointing setback, we face a Hadleigh side high in the Div 2 table and determined to take a scalp. We have a point to prove and a result to chase to make sure we are in the next round! ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #UptheCocks #lovefootball #lovenonleague #grassrootsfootball #nonleague

🐓🐓 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗔𝗬 🐓🐓 The Firsts suffered their 1st defeat of the season in horrid conditions going down 3-0 to Kesgrave Kestrels who were deserved winners. We had the better of the 1st half with the majority of possession and territory but our usually potent attack failed to find the cutting edge required in the final third with just a couple of headers when well placed to show for our efforts. In a game where it felt the 1st goal would be pivotal we needed more. And so it proved as early in the 2nd half a dubiously awarded free kick was curled home to put Kesgrave 1-0 ahead. We huffed and puffed and got plenty of balls into the box but profligate finishing and good keeping kept us at bay. Kesgrave added a further 2 goals late on as we pushed for that elusive equaliser to make the game safe. A first defeat and a sore one at that, plenty to work on to make sure we get back to winning ways at the first opportunity ⭐️ A. 🐓🐓 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗡 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡, 𝗔𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢 𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 𝗦𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗦 🐓🐓 The unbeaten First team are there to be shot at and this week it will be Kesgrave Kestrels who take aim as the Firsts make the trip 🚗 The reverse fixture in August was Kesgraves last loss so we travel under no illusions that this won't be a tough fixture. We'll have to battle the wind, rain and a side out to bring us down if we are to remain unbeaten and clear at the top 🔝 ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #UptheCocks #lovefootball #lovenonleague #grassrootsfootball #football

🐓🐓 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗜𝗠 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗨𝗣 🐓🐓 It's time to bounce back after last weeks first defeat of the season for the Reserves and what better way to do it than by 👁 the proverbial 'cupset' as we face Old Newton Reserves at the Green. Old Newton currently sit a division above so it's time to accept the challenge with the free hit offered to us to try and progress! If you are feeling brave the lads would love it if you can brave the storm 🌧💨 to try and help see them through! 2:00KO at The Green! ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #upthecocks #lovefootball #lovenonleague #grassrootsfootball #football

🐓🐓😍 𝕃𝕆𝕆𝕂 𝔸𝕋 𝕋ℍ𝔼𝕊𝔼 😍🐓🐓 Alot of work goes into maintaining venues and facilities and the home of football in Cockfield is no different. The Parish council has recently replaced and decorated the railings around the outside of The Pavilion and we think they look brilliant 👏 We can't thank the council enough for putting these in place to ensure we keep having a venue for our players, supporters and visitors to feel at home 🏡 and proud of 💙 ⚽️💙🐓💙⚽️ #UptheCocks #lovefootball #grassrootsfootball #parishcouncil #villagelife

🐓🐓 𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗦 🐓🐓 It was a disappointing afternoon on Saturday for the Reserves as a chaotic opening ultimately led to our demise as we tasted defeat for the 1st time this season going down 3-1 It could have been so different as we started the game on the front foot and created some good opportunities to take the lead but that was soon punished when we conceded a penalty that was coolly converted. Things went from bad to worse when a Kesgrave effort was diverted by captain Travis Page with his hand to stop the ball going in and it was soon 2-0 and down to 10 men. Kesgrave were able to add a third before HT which left us fearing the worst at the break. But to the Reserves credit and newfound inner strength we put in a strong 2nd half display belying our numerical disadvantage. J. Nelson reduced the arrears from a corner and we spent the majority of the 2nd half on the front foot but unable to force further goals. A frustrating way to lose a game of that there is no doubt but the Reserves showed plenty of character and determination on and off the pitch to promise this isn't a feeling we will encounter too much if we can heed the lessons of the 1st half! Saturday will provide the lads the chance to bounce back and demonstrate the character shown in the 2nd half! ⚽️ - J. Nelson 🎯 - C. Minihane ⭐️ - H. Towns ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️

🐓🐓 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗧𝗢 𝗞𝗘𝗘𝗣 𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗕𝗜𝗡𝗚 🐓🐓 The Reserves host AFC Kesgrave 'A' at the Green tomorrow attempting to keep climbing the table with a win! We currently sit 6th with 2 wins and 3 draws from our opening 5 fixtures. An unbeaten start, but a good start would become an even better one with 3 points tomorrow against a Kesgrave side with 1 win and 5 losses in their opening 6 fixtures. Come join us from 14:30 to see how this one pans out ⚽️⚽️⚽️ ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #UptheCocks #lovefootball #lovenonleague #grassrootsfootball #localfootball

🏡 home draw in the Primary Cup 2nd round: ⚽️ - @Mendleshamfc 🏟 - Great Green, IP30 0HQ 🗓 - 21/11/26, 13:30

📸 Surprise visits are just the best aren't they 😍? 📸 Saturday we were incredibly lucky to have @pitchside_bp drop by en route to a prior engagement and capture all the pulsating 1st half action - 5 goals and a pen save is good going - there was so much action we have had to split into 2 posts!! Every time we have the privilege of Ben's expertise we are always impressed and so grateful, he is genuinely one of the best about - we implore you to check out his work on Instagram! Anyway, enough words - check out the pics on here and the full album on FB 💙🐓💙🐓💙

🐓🐓 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗣 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗢𝗗𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗞𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗞 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 🐓🐓 The Reserves emphatically found their form to put their familiar opponents to the sword with a 6-1 win that sees us in the draw for the next round of the Suffolk FA Primary Cup! Any lingering disappointment from last weeks draw was not in evidence here as the Reserves raced out of the traps to come in with a comfortable 4-0 lead at HT! The second half was a more muted affair but we were able to add 2 more before FT to secure an impressive win at the Green! Carter continues to impress, notching a hattrick whilst he was supported ably by Lee, Nelson and Towns to bring up the half dozen. A confidence boosting performance ahead of a crucial league game at the Green this Saturday! ⚽️ - L. Carter x3, D. Lee, J. Nelson, H. Towns 🎯 - D. Lee, J. Nelson x2, T. Lewin, T. Midforth ⭐️ - L. 🐓🐓 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗖 𝗛𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗨𝗣 𝟭𝟬 𝗨𝗡𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗡 🐓🐓 A potential bump in the road was avoided with a tricky game in difficult circumstances was negotiated as we came away with 3 points we largely deserved First half goals from Mantle and Bowyer and Bryant from fast paced attacking moves nudged us ahead 3-2 at the break as 2 sloppy goals from corners kept Witnesham in the game. We were indebted to Utteridge for a big pen save at 3-1. It had been a frantic 1st half so it was inevitable the 2nd was much quieter but it was lit up with Steeds sensational touch, turn and finish settled any lingering hopes Witnesham had of a share of the spoils. A big 3 points to keep the gap at the top and to take us to 10 unbeaten in all competitions! ⚽️ - C. Mantle, L. Bowyer, M. Bryant, C. Steed 🎯 - M. Darnell, O. Ward x2, R. Jolly ⭐️ - J. No doubt buoyed by last weeks heavy cup win Witnesham will head into this one with an extra spring in their step as we look to avoid a sting in the tail and make sure we take 3 points back to Cockfield! ⚽️🐓💙🐓⚽️ #upthecocks #lovefootball #lovenonleague #grassrootsfootball #localfootball
