GameNight took 2nd place in the Gaming Influencer Award at @RevenueCat's #Shipaton 2026 🏆
Six weeks ago GameNight wasn't even on the App Store. I built it because the hardest part of jumping on with friends was always figuring out what to play.
Since launch:
• 1,700+ users
• 160,000+ swipes through games
• App Store rejections, a crash loop, and a database that buckled the day the launch reel took off
Thank you to everyone who downloaded it, sent feedback and put up with my bug lists.
Officially a smart home guy. Well sorta…
It's one light switch, a porch light. I’ve left it on all day more times than I can count, and walking over to flip it off and on and off and on got old fast
Now it kicks on 15 min before sunset and shuts off an hour after sunrise. I don't touch it anymore.
Simple, but it's the first step. What should I automate next?
Took them like 18 days 😤
I already have 1.2 in TestFlight lots of ui/ux changes, iPhone Duo support, and better iPad support as well.
I'm giving away some huge agentic video editing advice here. Would love to package this as a service once I work out the kinks and expand on it's knowladge base but for now, copy me exactly.
I've completely changed my workflow. I went from editing 3-4 videos in a full day to 15-20 videos. I'm now limited by how fast I can record videos.
One thing Alex didn't mention in this post is usage. If you work with your agent to reduce usage, you can get it down to about 4% of your session limit (max plan) per video.
Build tools once - All my editing runs through one set of Python scripts. A new video is a short plan file that says which clip goes under which line and when, not new code each time.
Let scripts do the looking - Claude never watches whole videos. Scripts measure the audio, find the cuts and make small contact sheets of frames, and Claude reads those. Footage gets checked broad to fine: a frame every few seconds to pick moments, then every few frames around the picks, then frame by frame only at the actual cuts.
Write rules down once - A CLAUDE.md file and a memory folder hold my preferences (caption style, cut timing, music level), so I never re-explain them.
This is exactly how I can give it a week of edits and walk away confidently knowing it'll one shot every single edit.

Replying to @RevenueCat
@RevenueCat is famously hard to get into
We’ve just opened our first (and only) truly entry-level role
And I suspect some of the best people for it won’t think to apply
It’s called Product Expert
Before anyone gets too excited about the “entry-level” bit: You still need to be amazing 😅
What you don’t need is to have spent the last 10 years becoming world-class at one very specific thing
For this role, we’re looking for a broader set of skills:
👉 You’re amazing in a conversation with a founder, app growth professional or developer
You can figure out what they’re trying to do, ask good questions, and actually help them move forward
👉 You know RevenueCat well enough to answer questions and give a useful demo
Maybe you learned it at work, maybe you built your own app, maybe you entered Shipaton
We care that you know your stuff, not where you learned it
👉 You have commercial common sense
You can handle the straightforward commercial questions yourself, and recognize when it’s time to pull in an Account Executive
👉 You have technical common sense
Same thing: You can help with the basics, and know when a conversation needs a Solutions Engineer
You don’t have to be the person who can close the biggest deal AND architect the most complicated migration
You do need to be the person who makes the first conversation genuinely useful
(And who makes sure the next conversation actually happens)
Already world-class at one of those things? Great! You’re very welcome to apply too
We’re just opening this up to people who haven’t picked their specialization yet
You’ll get to work with, and learn from, some genuinely amazing people
Travel to industry events and meet RevenueCat users in person
And build a foundation that could take you towards being an AE, an SE, a CSM, or wherever your strengths end up taking you
For now, we’re hiring at least one person in the Americas and one in EMEA
If you’ve ever looked at our jobs and thought “I’d LOVE to work there, but I’m not a senior specialist in any of these things”, this could be your foot in the door
And if someone immediately came to mind while reading this: Tag them
Especially if they’re the kind of person who’s brilliant at a bunch of things, but would never search for a job called “Product Expert”

Fed Claude Code hundreds of my old edits so it'd learn how I cut
Tonight I queued up 8 new videos and went out to eat knowing damn well it's gonna first shot every single one
Anyway here's my pizza

Shipaton 2026 winners, 15/20: Gaming 🎮
Mr Lewis Blogs Gaming's challenge: you see a game you want to play, then you forget it. Build something that saves the discovery and keeps your backlog in order.
Game Magnet: Kundan kept seeing games in short videos and forgetting their names. Now you share the clip, it finds the games and saves them to your backlog, with shelves, ratings and ranked lists. It even works in the background and pings you when it's done.
GameNight: puts your friends' Steam libraries, wishlists and ratings together and finds the overlap. When the group still can't decide, a slot machine picks for you. Every game night needs that button :-)
Slyko: Enzo wanted a film diary, but for games. Wishlists, reviews, library sync and public favorites in one place, and you can share a social post to identify the game in it.
Most of us have a backlog full of games bought on sale and never started, so this category feels a bit personal :-)
Congrats Kundan, Matthew (@GameNightTeam) and Enzo, and thanks @lewisblogs for the challenge.

Trying to decide if this account stays my everything account or goes all in on gaming and GameNight
1: keep posting it all here like I always have
2: keep this one for gaming and the app, move the AI and video editing stuff over to @TheMattWalmsley
Everything I'm seeing says X rewards you for niching down. But this account has been a little bit of everything since day one
What would yall do?

From shipping apps to taking over Times Square.
Our #Shipaton winners got the billboards, the live demos, and a visit from Shippy.
Not your average hackathon prize.
What a way to close out #NewYorkAppWeek! 📷
Do you think any of the big app companies are as worried about optimizing their apps for the Duo as we are? Literally at a wedding right now keeping my Claude running remotely.
This is what #AppWeek is all about. Stepping outside of your comfort zone, meeting new people, learning from everyone's experiences, and building a community of like-minded individuals.
This is my first time driving a Tesla, and I’d have to say I really enjoy it. The one pedal driving took a few minutes to get used to but is super convenient.
This Tesla I’m renting doesn’t have full self driving and I feel like that’s a feature I’d need to try first before committing to purchasing one however, overall I’m really enjoying this rental.
My X timeline is giving me iPhone Duo FOMO
I don’t need one
I don’t need one
I don’t need one
I don’t need one
I need one
“The App Space is Dead”
“Your app won’t go anywhere”
“Ai slop”
Make that app bro you’ll never know where it takes you.
Attending App Week in New York has lit a whole new fire under me. I really want to take GameNight to the next level, and after this week I finally feel like I know how.
I spent the week around people who've built and grown apps way bigger than mine, and every conversation gave me something to bring home.
Great to meet you Maya! Great coffee and great conversations. That app dev getaway idea is too good not to do. Can't wait to watch more of your podcasts and talk again soon!
It was so great meeting Matt over coffee and chat about building apps, UGC and so much more!
Thanks @CodedVengeance for hanging out and huge congrats on the 2nd place win in the Gaming Influencer Category Award!
