The hard copies should hit Lake Carroll mailboxes in a week or 2. Here's the online link to the magazine:

Of the IHSA proposals, I'm impressed with the supermajority bylaw passage proposal.
The changes that drastically alter the sports landscape have become too close to 50-50 that flaws can, and will, exist.
A supermajority vote provokes better, clearer thought of these situations.
This is Prop. 2.
As the bylaw proposals grow heavier over the years, we're just going to keep seeing indefinite tug-of-war.
The more that schools know that something IS right, or ISN'T right, the less "back-and-forth" is experienced, and less evolving landscapes every few years.
My initial thought on the new crop of IHSA bylaw proposals:
The public school patience is wearing wafer thin.
Athletes who play two sports at the college level don't appear often, but Eastland grad Olivia Klinefelter has been enjoying her time on the volleyball and basketball team for the Highland Community College Cougars (@HCCCougars).

Someone has been posting extensive IHSA conference histories on Wikipedia this summer. Kudos to whoever this may be – good work!
Learned a lot about the U.S. Grant (NW part of Illinois) and Black Hawk League conferences (SW part of Wisconsin, which included 2 IL schools).
Much of the IHSA conference histories online are the work of Tom Sikorski, who contributed his works to #IllinoisHighSchoolGloryDays about 15 years ago. This is the first I've seen the U.S. Grant.
Golden Warrior trivia: The late Ken Johnson, longtime freshman football coach from 1970-2001 (200 wins), came to Sterling after serving as an assistant football coach at Hillcrest from 1968-69.
Round 2. Our house. Let’s get loud! 🏈🔥
Hillcrest is headed to Sterling, and the Golden Warriors have more playoff football to play. Pack Prescott Friday night!

The final numbers are in ... a new post-pandemic record for most trick-or-treaters @ the Codycabana!
Okay, there were 4 ... The same number that one door knock on Third Avenue in Rock Falls could get between 1995-96 (with 4 Cutter boys).
First trick-or-treaters since 2023.
Breaking: Trick-or-treating is still a thing east of the Dillon Home in Sterling ...
Had my first trick-or-treaters in 3 years.
Will the Rev. VanderBleek traveling trophy be on the line next week, or is it like the Shoe -- where playoff games don't count?
Newman currently has it.
Toggling back and forth between story research and X this afternoon. Depending on how it all plays out, I hope to be back in football form next round.
Reposting an old post to tell who the team Quincy played today is named for.
At work AND in costume for a magazine assignment tonight.
Lake Carroll Candlelight closing tonight after 5 years, and a Halloween costume party sends it all off.

I am dressed as THIS 2008 Lady Gaga song ...
Someone check last time 172 total points were scored in a WB6-team 🏀 game
It's over. @qhsfootball advances in the Class 6A playoffs with an 88-84 victory over Chicago Goode in the highest scoring playoff game in IHSA history. The move to a new stadium proved worth it for the Blue Devils, who are now 8-3.
