Congratulations @andrewpakes_ on becoming the UK Government’s first Co-operatives and Mutuals Champion! We were delighted to host you at Coin Street in March 2025 and wish you every success in this important new role.
Last Wednesday, @andrewpakes_ MP spoke in parliament to introduce a new bill to recognise co-operative housing tenure in law.
Prior to his speech, we hosted Andrew at Coin Street, gave him a tour of our estate and an overview of our history.
During his speech, Andrew praised Coin Street and spoke on the 220 co-operative homes we provide.
He said: “These are more than just homes. For the people who live there, they are routes to training, education, decision-making and genuine power. This is housing done differently.”
We’d like to thank Andrew and his team for visiting Coin Street and for his kind words on our community impact.

We're delighted to welcome Rebecca Sycamore as the new Chief Executive of Coin Street. We look forward to working with Rebecca as she leads the next chapter of Coin Street's story.
We recently took a coach full of local older adults on a free day trip to Hastings. It was a wonderful chance to get out of London and make the most of a sunny day by the coast, made possible by Southwark Charities.
We would like to thank everyone who has been part of the Gabriel’s Wharf story and helped make it such a special destination on the South Bank. We encourage visitors to come and support the businesses before 27 September.
