The BC Wildfire Service says the Becker Lake fire, east of #VernonBC, is at 35 hectares, same as it was this morning. It is still listed as 'out of control' with an evacuation alert put in effect today.vernonmatters.ca/2021/07/11/…

UPDATE: The Wildfire Service has not had any reports of new growth on the Becker Lake fire today, but expects more information around 4:00 p.m. BCWS noted evacuation alerts are intended to make sure people are aware of what's going on, should they need to evacuate. #VernonBC

Fire crews from multiple municipalities are here in Penticton at a this staging area helping to fight the Christie Mtn Fire. North Van, Coquitlam, Coldstream, Golden, Kelowna, BX Swan Lake, New Westminster to name some.

#BCWildfire Service is responding to a new grass fire ~10 kms south of #Vernon along #BCHwy97. 11 BC Wildfire personnel are responding with the local fire department & the support of 1 helicopter. The fire will be highly visible from the highway and surrounding areas.
