Our feckless, self-serving federal government is constantly spamming energy projects, military propaganda, and ai and the electorate is just lapping it up. I'm glad I'm Canadian, but this feels like a death spiral for the nation. @avilewis is the only thing keeping my hope.

There you have it. @FLOTUS45 is complicit in a war crime. An entire abduction and deportation scheme, carried out in her name. Many of these people will be interrogated, tortured and killed.
Russian forces have begun taking civilians from occupied Oleshky to Russia, apparently disregarding previously announced agreements governing the operation. The operations are being conducted by the Russian military, without American representatives or teams from either side’s ombudsman office present. Russia’s state news agency TASS is openly filming the operation. There is no indication that civilians are being given a choice of where they wish to go. No buses or other vehicles designated to transport evacuees to Ukrainian-controlled territory are visible. The operation raises serious concerns that Russia is once again exploiting a humanitarian evacuation to forcibly transfer Ukrainian civilians. The parallels with the evacuation of Mariupol’s Azovstal steel plant are disturbing. Once again, Moscow appears to be disregarding agreed procedures while controlling the fate of Ukrainian civilians.

Why do white people think that Indigenous people do not deserve to be treated as equals on our own lands? What makes them act and think in such dark ways? Is it no connection to other life? I have so many questions and in spirit, they answer me in cryptic ways. I want to be

I'm not sure most Canadians realize what's happening right now with Indigenous folks and the Carney government. But I’m going to use my platform today to show you. I sure hope the government listens...because otherwise, a storm is coming:

Here’s Chief Na’Moks of the Wet’suwet’en Nation: “To Prime Minister Carney and the politicians studying Bill C-39, I have a message for you: our rights are not yours to bargain away.”
I'm not sure most Canadians realize what's happening right now with Indigenous folks and the Carney government. Today, voice after voice from Indigenous leadership, youth, from across the country, has been telling us they're gearing up for a fight for their rights. This is big!

RICH PEOPLE SHOULD BE FUNDING THE ARTS, NOT BEING A BURDEN TO SOCIETY
I'm grateful Laika is run by the son of a billionare that doesn't care how much money he loses in the course of making straight artistic fire.

Travis Knight says the final battle in ‘WILDWOOD’ is the most difficult sequence ever made at LAIKA. “It required us to use every single technique… It's a combination of hand drawn animation, stop-motion animation, CG animation & it’s something to behold.”

So, Wildwood is terrific. A lot of old folks like me wish for the dark, quasi-traumatic family film of our youths. We don’t get them very often, but Wildwood fits the bill. High fantasy, real stakes, complicated characters, incredible animation. Long live Laika.

This film is a masterpiece. True movie magic. We should be humbled by the vision and artistry on display. Please go see it!
‘WILDWOOD’ opened with $11M domestically. The second lowest opening for a LAIKA film.

The Conservatives didn’t win as much as the NDP lost. The Conservatives got 50,000 less votes than 2024. Both the Vancouver and provincial election show a rejection of neoliberalism and that people want bold system-change ideas, not milquetoast centrism.

reminder that David Eby wasn’t elected by people into party leadership - he was essentially appointed into premiership when the BCNDP party brass blocked Anjali Appadurai because she got people excited - a major scandal - he became the leader by default without a vote, then this

The entire BC NDP shoulders the blame for this by totally ratfucking Anjali Appadurai by the way. Eby couldn't win on his own in the first place because his political instincts have been dog shit from day one and even casual observers could see this happening a mile out
Replying to @Cam_Oflage
A cynical, vain, uncharismatic technocrat who believed in nothing beyond poll-chasing &his own superior cleverness No real political skill other than Littlefingering his way to the top of party's internal politics, eventually leaving it w barely any veteran hands OR rising stars

Eby lost this election through multiple egregious mistakes, arrogance & lack of political skill. But we also need to see his catastrophic loss as proof of what happens when "progressives" swing to the right. Eby is not the first centrist to be shown this. #bcpoli
