If you're out tonight, driving home or heading away for the holidays, please slow down and stay safe. Never ever drink and drive and follow advice from @RSAIreland for safe driving tips in winter.

Both adults and children should always wear a correctly fitted lifejacket when on, near or in water. Tides and weather can change rapidly and it's easy to suddenly find yourself in a dangerous situation. Follow @IWSie for more advice. #NationalWaterSafetyWeek

On the eve of Dublin Pride, we are delighted with our new staff NAS / HSE Rainbow badge. It is intended to be a simple visual symbol identifying its wearer as someone an LGBTI+ person can feel comfortable talking to about issues relating to sexuality or gender identity.

We are experiencing a large volume of calls at this time and ask that you please be patient as we deal with the most serious injuries and illnesses first. Please consider other options as non-life threatening incidents have longer wait times. In an emergency call 999/112.

Bank holiday weekends are extremely busy times for us so we are asking that you only ring 999 or 112 if it's an absolute emergency. Our call takers are experts at triaging a patient's condition over the phone and ensure that the sickest will receive the quickest response.

This June Bank Holiday weekend we are asking people to consider all care options before presenting at Emergency Departments. Bank holiday weekends and good weather usually bring additional pressure on the hospital system and the National Ambulance Service.

🚑Please remember that you should only call 112 or 999 in an emergency. Being brought to hospital by ambulance will not get you seen any quicker once there. Please help us to keep ambulances available for life threatening emergencies.
