My church blessed our family with gifts for pastor appreciation month. Truly grateful. Also grateful I was able to use a portion of that to take advantage of the current @Founders_Press sale. A couple of these books I already have in audio or paper back format, but wanted the hard copy. Some I have wanted for a while. A some are preorders. I am thankful to be able to get all of them and thankful to my church for their generosity!

What is the job of the civil magistrate according to Romans 13? To punish evil and promote good. If a magistrate fails to do this task then they are accountable to God for their sin (as seen in John 19:11).
But this does not give Christians the right to approve of any evil or hate any good that they do. Unfortunately today we see a lot of both, as well as confusion about what is what by comparing the actions of a civil government with the individual actions of a person as prescribed in scripture. So many things that are good for a civil magistrate to do are seen as evil by Christians who mean well but fail to understand the distinction. So many things that are wrong for a government to do are championed as good by well meaning Christians who fail to understand the distinction. They bare “the sword” and not in vain. I recommend this book to anyone interested in how I am processing my understanding of politics as a Christian nowadays. Even if you come away disagreeing with it, it’s worth the read to get a better understanding of why you may see many today thinking differently about this topic in Christian circles.
P*rnography is feeding sexual degeneracy in our society and should be illegal. Not only that, but it creates passive men who will not stand against evil because they secretly delight in it. I pray the legal use of it dies in my lifetime.

Give thanks to the Lord. Fall back is knocking at our door, and I am thankful for brothers in our church who helped make this happen. One brother owns a skid steer and brought it to dig the hole and also to help get the light upright. Another brother used his skills with electrical work to wire it. Another brother and I helped to do grunt work stuff (about all I am good for in this situation). Now our kiddos don’t have to play in the dark on Wednesday nights after church. It may be a simple thing, but it’s also a beautiful thing. The body of Christ coming together to serve one another. Give thanks to the Lord.

If you hate @SlowToWrite so much that you are celebrating his family’s suffering , then you need to repent.
“But it’s probably his fault they are suffering!” Doesn’t matter if that is true or not, and we don’t know enough yet to make that call. Stop it.
If you hate @Brian_Sauve so much that you are going to bat for the godless man who delighted himself thinking about Brian’s death, then you need to repent. “But he said this and did this, and I don’t like that!” Doesn’t matter. It was an evil thing to desire. Stop it.
