Big Brother is way down compared to last year. A mediocre 431,000 viewers nationally last night. That isn’t helping Sam Pang Tonight (311,000).
With The Block out of the way, My Kitchen Rules climbed to 1.209 million viewers nationally last night. Smacked Travel Guides (788,000).
Per @tvtonightau - last night’s finale of The Block down approximately 400,000 viewers from last year and 200,000 from year before. Be interesting to see if last night’s great auction results can give next year’s season a boost.
Congratulations to all the contestants on The Block. All five properties selling well above reserve is a fantastic result. Mount Eliza delivered in the end.
This is pretty awesome. Check out the crowd! youtu.be/2XF_xFujFjo
Maybe because the launch of Love Island Australia was in the mix (452,000 viewers nationally) but Big Brother premiere (542,000) was well down on last year’s 774,000.
After a slowish start The Terminal List 2 really hits its stride. A good watch - though after watching episode six I will never look at piano wire in quite the same way again. 😬
Haven’t seen a Netflix true crime doco in quite a while but stumbled on A Toxic Love Story and it was pretty gripping.
At 6.30pm if it is a choice between Hard Quiz repeats and Deal or No Deal usually repeats which are you going to pick?
Was a bit weird this week seeing the actor who plays Coe in Slow Horses (Tom Brooke) turn up as John Dashwood in the new Sense and Sensibility movie.
New ABC dramas - Fortitude Valley (crime), The Great White (legal), Rural Crime Unit (crime), Pilli Sisters P.I. (crime), Help Me! (crime), John Bailey: The Enemy Within (crime) plus Pray Harder documentary (crime) and Mark of a Murder (true crime). I detect a theme. 🤔
Interesting hosting combo for Seven’s iteration of I’m A Celebrity. Not sure how these two will click. Hopefully they’ll have chemistry.
What to make of Channel 10’s prime time programming of late? 🤔 They have been shunting in anything - all sorts of bibs and bobs - to fill space before Big Brother returns. Why bother launching Shaun Micallef’s Parents’ Evening if you are going to pause it after four episodes?
See you next time, Shaun and Gabe.... in 2027. tvtonight.com.au/2026/10/upd…
Can it get any closer? The Block averaged 1.085 million viewers nationally last night. My Kitchen Rules 1.084 million. Ten’s Sydney Harbour Cops a dismal 245,000.
I never expected to say this but my go-to streaming service at the moment is Paramount+. FBI, Lioness, Marshals, Boston Blue, and the occasional CIA. Apple for Slow Horses. Prime for Reacher and Neagley.
