Had to block "Up Learn": A) Fed up of seeing Birbalsingh's face staring @ me recommending it, how much she or her school have been paid for that& B) Michaela is not the "Best school in the country". It's a great school for its demographic. That's all.

Right first the Mail, now the Express... Taking the mick. One headline in support of antiracism marches will not compensate for the decades of demonising migrants, refugees, Muslim people and anyone who does not look like that comical Pub Landlord.

Ironic, isn't it; that in decades of living in London, the only time I've felt unsafe on the streets and that there may be no go areas for me to enter tonight is when the far-right are planning their riots? I'm a white British man.

Just contacted school and volunteered my own person power to support our students and staff likely to be affected by this weekends far right racist violence. If you're still around and you can help you might consider offering your own help to those you care for and support.

The Imam of Sheikh Abdullah Quilliam Mosque in Liverpool has invited far right agitators planning a protest there tomorrow into the mosque for free food and a chat

Genuinely as pleased that the pay settlement is fully funded as I am that is 2.5x inflation. Over the next few years BOTH salaries and school funding need to hear back to 2000s levels please.

Replying to @adamboxer1
@adamboxer1 interesting discussion on context within a school on this week's pod. Currently working hard on context withim a classroom. Computers are massively distracting and physical devices to hide behind. Moving to Chromebook laptops next year to ensure they remain

Lids closed when not in active use. Mirrors at back of classroom help too as does my position in the room. Interested to hear the strategies other CS teachers use in our "context" to help this conundrum.

Tonight the words of Will Self on Brexit come to mind. I'll paraphrase: "I'm not saying everyone who voted Reform is racist, but everyone who's racist voted Reform...". Next job has to be to stop the insidious creep of intolerance and white privilege.

Incredible that 1 in 30 of us believes a non offensive hand tattoo disqualifies an otherwise competent and able teacher from teaching. It's utterly irrelevant and our recruitment crisis is bad enough without eliminating candidates for such petty reasons.

Have had literally 10 mins to look at today's OCR comp sci paper 1. Thought it was a little harder than last yr with new question styles, fewer disguised multi choice & more answers requiring contextualising. Hopefully this points to paper 2 being a little easier than last year!

Old fart question! I'm suffering from plantar fasciatis and need some shoes to support me more. Although I wear a suit and I'm in my 50s, I don't want to wear shoes that make me look ready to retire. On a teachers budget but willing to pay a bit for style. Any suggestions?

Wish I could find a way to get this into my "Pocket Casts" app.

The lack of awareness of the white staff of Avon & Somerset police and the routine racism that results is disturbing but essential viewing as we seek to support all of the children we educate. #c4 #tocatchacopper

Lovely CS teachers of the UK. There's a KS4 National Curriculum Requirement to continue some kind of provision for students who opt not to study GCSE Comp. Sci. How are you covering this off in your schools?

May the families of all the kids I took through GCSE Computer Science celebrate similar scenes of joy today ... nitter.cf/StigAbell/status/16945…
If you need cheering up, watch the family of Josh Kerr celebrating his amazing win in the World Championships. Makes your heart fill with joy.
