🚨🎙️Wayne Rooney on Chelsea's recruitment strategy, questions their mentality and rules them out of the title race. Rooney🗣️“Personally, I don’t see Chelsea as Premier League title contenders, and I actually think there’s a serious possibility they won’t even finish in the top four this season. I think Chelsea fans need to wake up and stop confusing potential with actual quality. Having a squad full of expensive young players doesn’t automatically make you a team capable of competing for the biggest trophies. You can spend £1 billion assembling a squad and still have no clear identity, no established leaders and no guarantee of winning anything. Look at Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. Those teams have players who understand what it takes to compete at the highest level week after week. When things get difficult, they have experienced players who take responsibility. At Chelsea, I still see a team that relies too heavily on individual moments rather than a collective identity. My biggest concern is their recruitment. Chelsea keep spending enormous amounts of money on the next big talent, but who exactly is taking responsibility for leading this team? Who is setting the standards in that dressing room? You cannot build an entire squad around potential and expect everyone to suddenly develop the mentality of serial winners. And let’s be honest, Chelsea fans talk about this project as if winning the Premier League is just around the corner. Potential is not achievement. Having talented youngsters is not the same as having a team capable of challenging for the title. I don’t care how much money they’ve spent or how exciting some of their players look. Until Chelsea show the consistency, experience and mentality required to compete with the best, they have no business being discussed as title contenders. For me, finishing in the top four is not even guaranteed. Chelsea have a lot more to prove than their supporters want to admit.”
