Did a lot of work yesterday to rewrite the way Ren'Py mixes audio. Among other improvements: - Very short fades are now possible. - Fading is now done by power, not amplitude. - Panning is now constant-power.

I'm also adding a warning that will show up in Ren'Py 8.1/7.6 when loading a save file from a different device. In Ren'Py, a save file is a small program, and it's possible to modify that program to do malicious things.

Volodymyr Ezhov who was involved in the creation of Alexander (RTS/RPG from 2004), Cossacks 2 (RTS, 2005), Heroes of Annihilated Empires (RTS/RPG, 2006) and STALKER: Clear Sky (2008) was killed in Ukraine. Loki from Call of Pripyat has (a younger version of) his face.

Eventually, the Ren'Py 8 web version might be a good choice for educational and game-jam-type games, though that will vary with the game. (Some studios go all out with game jam games.)

I've been putting more work into the web version of Ren'Py, lately. Most recently, there's the option of downloading the entire game into the web browser's cache, so it can be played offline.
