When I’m 50 years old I’m stopping whatever I’m doing, moving to a small town by the lake and running the Wing T. The QB doesn’t even need to learn how to throw cause we ain’t passing. Catch bass in the AM and run Buck Sweep in the PM. I’ll have a Beagle Hound name Sally.

Matt Ellis, named interim HC for @RhodesFootball this week, with an all-time #Memphis quote as the Lynx (1-7) pulled off a Halloween upset of Hendrix (5-3), 24-17:
“We said all week: ‘Start urgent, finish strong.’ The guys really accepted that, brought some more sauce to it. We say sauce, not juice - juice expires, sauce keeps.” #d3fb
I hate fun too
𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗨𝗠𝗡: Tennessee fans did the unthinkable after the Alabama game. They killed the field-storming vibe.
Field storm? No, this was a lame field trip.

Think about it, this kid grew up in Franklin. Die hard Vols fan his entire life. Always dreamed of playing for the Vols. Committed to Tennessee knowing a 5 star QB was there. Stayed at Tennessee after ANOTHER 5 star QB came in. Stayed after losing the QB battle. Never faltered, complained. Just stayed the course. Got his opportunity when it came, and in just his second start won The Third Saturday In October, the biggest game of the season every year for Tennessee. Storybook stuff. And just look at him. Look at that smile. You know that smile is coming from somewhere deep down. That’s not a normal “victory” smile. Congrats, George. This is your moment. You deserve it. GBO 🙌🧡🍊

A few parting takeaways from this evening:
1) Bobby Dodd is legitimately a cool environment for football, though the Atlanta humidity can kick rocks.
2) Vols fans took over in a way that rivaled (and, in my opinion, surpassed) Starkville AND Baton Rouge. Full Neyland South effect.
3) That dude in the 18 jersey? There’s a reason the fabric is ripped at the bottom. He ran with grit and physicality and proved again why he deserved to be on the Doak Walker Award watch list. But retribution will come soon enough.
