A large tree trunk has been uncovered beneath a glacier in the Alps, dated to around 6,000 years ago.
The species is Swiss stone pine.
Today, trees of that type cannot grow at that altitude because it is far too cold.
This means that when that tree was alive, the climate there had to be warmer than today.
6,000 years ago aligns with the Holocene climate optimum, a time when temperatures were far higher than now, even with far less atmospheric CO2.
Earth's climate is cyclical and Mother Nature self-regulates.
Narratives of doom serve political aims, not reality.

Ridiculous. And this is seriously misleading!
Virgin ran the SAME West Coast service privately and achieved 91% passenger satisfaction. It was great!
Then the Government disqualified the Virgin consortium and awarded the route to FirstGroup/Trenitalia. (Avanti)
Avanti contracts are already OVERSEEN by the government and has delays, cancellations and is terrible value for money
The government is the reason the line is failing. And taking it back into government control wont fix it because you already have control and it’s wankered (technical term)
Enough is enough.
For years, people have been expected to put up with Avanti’s cancellations, delays, overcrowding, and a service that has failed them time and time again.
So my Labour government is bringing Avanti West Coast into public ownership at the earliest opportunity in March next year.
That means passengers, not shareholders, will come first.
More investment, fewer delays, and a renewed focus on getting the basics right.
We're putting essential services back in public hands and building a railway that actually works for the people who use it.
OMG 🚨 UK TV Host GOES OFF on UK Defense Secretary for refusing to connect illegal mass migration with security risks in the UK.
This might one of the best on air TV rants you will ever see. After 5 Muslims tried blowing up RAF Air Force base in London.
The people in Europe are FED UP with immigration and their failed government that protects illegals over its citizens.

My wife is divorcing me because she found out I’m not actually deaf—I’ve just been ignoring her for 10 years.
According to the papers, she spent 2 years learning sign language just to talk to me.
The second she mastered it, I told her my vision was starting to go.

Andrew Neil gives the Rejoin EU fantasists a dose of reality they rarely get on Question Time.
The argument is still being conducted as though Britain left the Europe of 2016 and can simply climb back aboard the same train. Neil’s point is devastatingly simple: that Europe no longer exists. The political balance has shifted, its biggest economies are struggling, and rejoining the single market or customs union comes with obligations and costs that are too often waved away by those selling Brexit reversal as free money.
He also reminds Remainers of something they prefer to forget. There were serious economic arguments for staying in the EU in 2016, but the official campaign squandered them with a relentlessly negative campaign and then spent years raging at the electorate for delivering the wrong answer.
You cannot rerun 2016 in 2026 and pretend nothing changed.
The #EU is rapidly becoming a goose step away from 1933...

In two years Labour took an extra £64 billion in tax.
They then borrowed another £244 billion.
You cannot see where it went.
The hospital wait is still years.
The high street is still in decline.
The streets are still full of potholes.
Just yesterday we found out 12 billion went on PIP to non brits.
Their answer is more tax and more borrowing.
That is not government.
That is utter incompetence, they don't care as they dont pay.
You do.

You tried to paint me as a pervert for exposing fraud, and as a result radical leftists started trying to dox me and send death threats, wanting to kill me.
Now you are taking credit for “leading the charge” on the fraud. Are you serious?
You are the fraud.

Look, I know...perma-bear blah blah blah.
But this is crazy stuff.
There are 2 days in history like today, when the S&P 500 $SPY rallied at least 1% to within 1% of a new high, and more of its stocks fell to new lows than highs.
• Jul 23, 1929
• Dec 21, 1999
We've never in almost 100 years seen breadth this bad.
The S&P $SPY is knocking on new highs but there are (many) more stocks at lows than highs.
The percentage of stocks in long-term uptrends is plunging.
The only remotely similar setups were January 1973 and November 1999.

This is blatant misinformation.
Reform UK will introduce the Women and Motherhood Protection Act. This would *double* the amount of time new mums have to raise a claim for unfair dismissal to one year.
Reform UK are on the side of women, Bridget and Labour can’t even define what a woman is.
Imagine you're pregnant and your boss sacks you because Reform scrapped the Equality Act and all the laws that protect you as a mother.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Reform UK proposes to repeal the Equality Act and replace relevant protections with a Women & Motherhood Protection Act that would extend maternity claim limits to 12 months and add explicit breastfeeding, fertility and miscarriage rights.

John Healey was a Cabinet Minister throughout the entirety of Rachel Reeve's time as Chancellor.
It was his DUTY to understand the nation's finances and it was all there on the public record.
Who pays the price? Ordinary people in the highest borrowing rates for 28 years.
The level of financial illiteracy is unforgiveable.

They’re selling gambling to men.
Not sport. Not women’s sport. Not women’s sporting attire. Not sporting equipment. Not tickets to sport.
Female athletes plaster pictures of themselves all over instagram in bikinis or similarly revealing outfits to sell merch or whatever all the time. They pose nude for magazines.
Shut. The. Fuck. Up.
This is only about two things:
1. You silly bitches are annoyed that, whatever her personal political beliefs, Sweeney refused to bow down to your last bout of retarded hysteria and issue the groveling apology to which you’ve all become accustomed (but are not entitled to).
2. Ugly women being annoyed that men find young, attractive women attractive.
You’d all be fine with it if it was a fat, black or man pretending to be a woman doing the exact same ad.
Irony of all fucking ironies that not a single one of you are even questioning the advertising of gambling in and of itself. Like, lol. You are all morally confused morons.
🚨 Hypocrite Angela Rayner at the TUC:
Farage’s donors are “sugar daddies.”
“If he’ll do a Cameo for £70, what would he do for £70 million?”
She’s saying this to the unions that have bankrolled Labour for decades.
A £70 video is not buying a government. Union cash with a legislative shopping list is.
If “you can’t buy democracy,” start with the people in the hall — not just those who donated to someone else.
Let’s not mention the meeting with ethnic leaders where she pleads for votes and promises their concerns will be at the heart of government policy.
