As predicted, the crap research on aerosols in schools by @p_bruijning has been pushed by @marionkoopmans, misrepresented in a major newspaper by @mkeulemans and is now actively used to fight airborne mitigation in schools.

It was the absurdity of the lies being told that alerted us to the #HerdImmunity strategy in February 2020.

@jljcolorado is an expert on aerosols and is a respected activist for #CleanIndoorAir. But he cannot bring himself to acknowledge that airborne transmission was not denied out of forgetfulness. It was a necessary lie, same as with monkeypox and flu.

There is nothing noble about a lie that harms.
And if the lies multiply or simply resurge over and over again — and continue to harm — then it is everything but noble.
Some countries had very bad apples that made the pandemic even more rotten, the Netherlands is one of them.

Satire is dead, @TheOnion is being outrun by actual events.
You may wonder how this works: the #herdimmunity government wanted 1 event to recognize the many deaths AND to celebrate "Covid is over" AND spread sympathy to bankrupt bar owners.

The Dutch government is again choosing to react weakly, now to #monkeypox.
They lie it is definitely not airborne (as with flu and covid) and call it "mild" while admitting it has 10% fatality in kids and is one of the most dangerous zoonotic viruses. Onward to #herdimmunity?
Een Brits kind ligt nu op de IC met #monkeypox, uit 20 bekende gevallen.
De rationele reactie is op zijn minst:
1. verplichte isolatie zieken
2. check verdachte gevallen
3. vaccins bestellen
4. voorlichting over preventie.
Nederland scoort 0 uit 4. En uitrazen dreigt.
