🧵 Predictably, I'm pleased about the FDA's OTC HA rule: a new pathway that I hope will spur access & innovation. Not everyone agrees, of course. But what’s fascinating about the arguments against is that they’re identical to all the old criticisms of our self-fitting work. 1/6
The argument that SFHAs (and now OTC) are a threat to audiologists says little about the idea itself, but speaks volumes - pardon the pun - about the person making it. Because making it about yourself betrays what you actually value: self-preservation, rather than innovation. 5/6

For many of us, #FoodDeliveryWorkers made physical distancing bearable during the pandemic's most trying moments🚴🦺💛
But their work is risky: 45% of FDWs say that they or someone they know has been injured while working.
We're working to change that.
