Piece I was working on before chapter 5 came out. Was planning on getting it done before it released but never got around to it

I feel like in the years since I made these models there’s been an influx of SpongeBob merch based on weird random things in the show like this. Like I just got a reel showing a blind box set based on Squid Wood of all things

Finding out it’s SpongeBob’s 25th anniversary! Here’s a repost of my weird SpongeBob models from last summer

This page originally had the characters outside a log cabin in the woods. I thought that felt cozy, but I realized that a scene outside a city would better illustrate the characters being on the surface and now part of "something bigger"

It feels like they were trying to go for a more realistic medieval fantasy thing with link and then realized they’d have to do that for the rest of the characters and went “fuuuck that!”

I did a redraw of this newer stock art last Fall, but someone did one that I think was a lot better and in line with the show's current style so I never posted it. I'm obviously more biased for first movie era sponge style

SpongeBob stock art has never been anything to write home about. It's charming, simple, and illustrates exactly who the characters are. But in the last few years, we've begun to face an epidemic: UGLY STOCK ART! ...🧵

Another one I did. I could've tried to draw a version of the piggyback ride pose they were going for, but I figured the clearer silhouette was better

There was actually a third show I made for the post called Orbit From Space. I didn't use it cause I thought it didn't look believable. OG file also shows a sketch for a show called Super Duper Atomo, don't remember if I planned on using that one
