With less than 0.5% of academy players who enter the system at 9 years old going on to have a career in football, it’s important for parents to have perspective.
Yes encourage your child to dream big but also ensure they are laying the foundations for a life outside of the game.
A man who was so proud to be part of his football club. Rest in peace Richard, you will be solely missed by everyone ❤️⚽️🙌🏻

Coaching young people is so often less about the skill in their feet and more about the skill in their mind
The courage to try...
The bravery to keep trying...
The confidence to continue to try through failure...
The focus to try better...
The openness to try different ways...

Players:
Ability exists but this won't determine your trajectory. Attention will!
When you train, pay attention...to the small details...the cues and clues that matter!
When you pay attention...a deep attention...you gain insight...
And it's insight that helps you improve
