“Crypto voters will remember who stepped up and who didn’t.”

We are still waiting on @brian_armstrong and Fairshake to “step up” and support the People’s Champion @JohnEDeaton1 against the Anti-Crypto Army’s Ed Markey.
It’s not too late Brian.
@DeatonforSenate.
The 2024 election proved the importance of the crypto voter.
@standwithcrypto is now much bigger, with over 4M members.
Crypto voters will remember who stepped up and who didn't.

Democrats wanted the FTC to keep full authority over consumer protection and fraud enforcement for NFTs. The Clarity Act preserves it.
Democrats voted against protecting Americans from NFT scams and fraud.

End of an era! Thank you, @HesterPeirce, for your many years of service fighting for sound crypto policy at the SEC. The impact of your tenure at @SECGov will only grow over time as global capital markets accelerate their move on-chain.

Campaign life means long days, late nights and time away from the people I love most. Balancing it isn’t always easy but they’re also why I’m doing it. I’m running to help build a better future for my family, and for families across Massachusetts.

Democrats wanted federal consumer protections for crypto ATMs to protect seniors from scammers. The Clarity Act delivers those comprehensive protections.
Democrats voted no on protecting seniors from ATM fraud.

When @coinbase faced an existential threat from the SEC, @JohnEDeaton1 stepped up.
John filed a brief in support of Coinbase’s position on behalf of 4,701 Coinbase customers.
And, just as in the Ripple & LBRY cases, John was PAID NOTHING for those services.
When Coinbase (and the whole industry) were in trouble, @JohnEDeaton1 stepped up because that’s who he is—ONCE A MARINE, ALWAYS A MARINE. 🇺🇸
Now John needs our help.
The only question is: Will industry leaders like @brian_armstrong step up to support @DeatonforSenate ?

🇺🇸 JUST IN: Sen. Cynthia Lummis says Democrats voted against a crypto bill containing the audited financial statements requirement they demanded.

The Senate voted. There is a ‘ledger’. It’s called a vote. It’s public. It failed because every Democrat Senator voted ‘no’ on cloture. They don’t want Clarity.
It’s not that difficult. Any other evaluation is pure spin. Read the roll call if you want the story.
The collapse of the Clarity Act marked a spectacular choke by an industry that had just recently begun reveling in its new lobbying clout, with President Trump in its corner.

Democrats demanded audited financial statements for any crypto project raising more than $25 million from the public. It’s in the bill.
Democrats voted against the transparency they asked for.

Democrats insisted the SEC keep full authority to police fraud and market manipulation in digital assets. We preserved it word for word.
Senate Democrats killed the bill that protects investors from fraud.

Don’t forget - Ripple and XRP stand on settled ground. The 2023 federal Court ruling established XRP is not a security.
And in March the SEC and CFTC issued a joint interpretation naming XRP a digital commodity. SEC Chairman Atkins and a CFTC Chairman Selig understand these markets. We expect future rulemaking from both agencies to continue to set out clear rules of the road.
1/ This one stings. Our team gave everything we had to get the Clarity Act across the finish line. So did most of the industry. This was an opportunity bigger than Ripple or one company - we did this for the industry, for consumers and to cement the US’s position as the crypto capital of the world and as a leader in the future of finance. Ultimately, consumers and U.S. competitiveness got left behind.
2/ A post mortem needs to be done on why this failed (more from me on that in the days ahead). The politics of the democrats (the anti-crypto army) was elevated over good policy.
3/ There is still reason for optimism for crypto in the United States. Now, the SEC, under Chair Atkins, and the CFTC, under Chair Selig, will continue to work hard to issue rules to fill the legislative gap and we will continue to be actively engaged in that rule making process.
4/ Ripple's business has never been stronger — real demand across traditional finance and the digital asset ecosystem. A missed vote in Washington doesn't change our momentum, our global footprint, or our customers.

🎯 What the democrats did today was borderline treasonous. And at the very least disingenuous.
VOTE THEM OUT IN NOVEMBER!
Corey_J retweeted
This afternoon, Senate Democrats proved they were never truly serious about protecting consumers and preserving American leadership. I sat at the table with Senate Democrats working in good faith to get this done while they played games.
For over a year, they presented demands and the second we met them, they made new demands and moved the goal posts. Today they voted against real limitations on politicians’ personal crypto investments. They voted against protecting American consumers from the scammers and fraudsters this bill would have shut down. They voted against American leadership, and handed China and every one of our foreign competitors exactly what they wanted. Democrats chose politics over the American people—again. That’s not leadership on their part, that’s surrender to their radical, socialist base.
The once-proud Democratic party is anti-consumer and pro-illicit finance, anti-ethics, anti-free enterprise, anti-worker, anti-livable wage jobs, and pro-socialism. The Democrats are now anti-American. Sad!

🚨Clarity Act Update!
Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. ET, the Senate takes its first procedural vote on the Clarity Act.
This is not a vote on final passage. It is a vote to end debate on whether the United States Senate should even consider a bill to regulate digital assets.
We have spent thousands of hours writing a framework so America leads this technology instead of watching it leave. Dozens of Senators have been in the room. It already cleared committee with a bipartisan vote. The House already passed it.
A “no” on Tuesday is not a thoughtful objection to a provision. It is a vote to keep an entire industry in the dark with no rules, no American framework, and let it develop overseas.
That is an absurd position.
If Senators have concerns about the bill, they can offer an amendment after we agree to take it up. That is how the Senate is supposed to work.
To my colleagues : vote yes on Tuesday. Consider the bill. Regulate this industry in the United States. Do not hand the future of digital assets to other countries because we failed to do our jobs.

If the Clarity Act fails, Democrats own what comes next: more 100 Democratic-directed changes wasted, consumers with zero federal protection, no disclosure rules, no delisting requirements for bad actors, stuck in the same unregulated system that has already cost Americans billions. They wrote the fix. They must pass it.

Democrats helped write the Clarity Act, securing more than 115 wins in the text. They demanded the felony bar on fraudsters, $150M for the CFTC, the crackdown on platforms like Binance, and they got almost everything they asked for. Now they need to vote for the bill they built. Anything less is walking away from their own work.
