When I transitioned, no one was surprised. I started to tell one person about some ‘big news’, and she semi-joked ‘Are you getting a sex change?’ I could tell many anecdotes.

So, it doesn’t resonate with me when someone claims they were ‘always a girl’, to me reeking of the claimed entitlement to access to spaces by identity alone — just as talk of ‘when I was a man’ is jarring especially if that gender supposedly flipped the day they came out.

I wonder when the concept of 'passing' changed from "seen as a cisgender woman" to "seen as a trans woman". The ENTIRE point of passing is to NOT be seen as trans. This is why people boymode until they pass, because they want to avoid being visibly trans

without natal gender incongruence/dysphoria and thus without the ability or much desire to actually transition to the female sex class, they need to realign the well-established term “passing” with their goal: being a transbian, not being a woman.
