Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves are reportedly in early talks to co-star in a brand new, highly secretive action thriller directed by Christopher Nolan. The project is being described as a "mind bending sci-fi heist" with a record shattering production budget.

Everyone talks about how great Brando and Pacino were in Part I, and rightfully so, but people often forget or overlook Robert Duvall. His performance as Tom Hagen is so underrated. He’s literally the heartbeat of the trilogy, or at least the first two films. It’s a damn shame he didn’t return for Part III. His absence is one of the reasons Part III ended up being such a shit show. Part III was originally going to revolve around Tom and Michael fighting for the soul of the Corleone family. That would have been so much better than what we actually got.

"I got a good story for that one, too." After Digger, I'm just gonna shut up and support whatever Tom does next. 🫡 Can't wait to see what story he'll tell in DOT2!

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

Tom Cruise deserved an Oscar for Magnolia (1999). Paul Thomas Anderson took everything that made him a movie star and exposed the vulnerability underneath. The scene with his dying father is some of the most heartbreaking acting of his career.

Don’t be surprised if DIGGER (2026) becomes the Best Picture front runner soon. I think people are seriously underestimating how much this movie is going to connect with audiences including Academy voters.

Happy 60th birthday to Chris Bauer, Frank Sobotka on The Wire. Born: October 28, 1966 in Los Angeles. He's excellent in every role but his portrayal of Frank Sobotka was iconic.

Το χειρότερο με τις τηλεφωνικές απάτες δεν είναι οι κόποι μιας ζωής που χάνονται. Το χειρότερο είναι πως άνθρωποι τόσο γλυκοί που δεν μπορούν ούτε να διανοηθούν την σαπίλα των άλλων, νιώθουν ντροπή, ενοχές και εξευτελισμό. Έχουν πιάσει κανέναν;

You don't have to go to that level. But you've got to go to some level if you want to really break out. So pick the one thing you'll do even on the days off, even if it's only 30 minutes. That's the part nobody else is doing.

Some days it wasn't much. On Christmas we'd swim for 30 minutes and play water polo. Some days it was an easy 1500 just so he swam that day. But you can make the case that those 52 days a year other people aren't training, over six years, picked him up about six months.

Michael Phelps went six years without missing a day of training. 365 days a year. Christmas morning, New Year's, Thanksgiving. People assume I made him do that. It was the other way around. 🧵

We're living in an economy where a guy with a master's degree is delivering groceries to a 22-year-old who made $4 million filming himself screaming at video games. And we're still telling kids to study hard.
